There has been some debate as to the day in which Jesus was crucified. Initially, I do not find Friday plausible, specifically because Jesus gave a sign to the Pharisees and Sadduccees in which he stated three days, and three nights, he would be in the belly of the earth. Matthew 12:40

12:40
for just as JONAH WAS THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS IN THE BELLY OF THE SEA MONSTER, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

I believe Jesus was crucified on Wednesday and admittedly I concede this does not correspond with the symbolism of Jesus as the Passover Lamb, which may render as necessary Jesus to be crucified on Passover. If this is the case, then Jesus was crucified on a Thursday, although I have difficulty reconciling this with Jesus' remark he was to be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

It is worth noting, Jews, to this day and during Jesus' era, do not count days as we do. The "day" began at 6:00 p.m. So, Tuesday for Judaism began at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Three days and three nights then gets us to the following timeline. Jesus is crucified on Wednesday. Wednesday 6:00 p.m. begins Thursday, which constitutes as Thursday night for them (1 night). The day began for Jews at 6:00 a.m. So from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. constitutes as the day of Thursday (1 day). Thursday at 6:00 p.m. begins Friday night (2nd night) and Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. constitutes as another day (2nd day). At 6:00 p.m. on Friday begins Saturday and this constitutes Saturday night (3rd night) and from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. comes the 3rd day.

I am not entirely satisfied this is correct but it corresponds better with a literal reading and understanding of Jesus' remarks in Matthew.

Thoughts other than where this will end up?

and take away the blue. I just can't read that much in that awful font. I know it's hard, well next to impossible for you OE, but just be more normal.

Does it really matter what day he was crucified? Isn't believing that he was enough?

Who cares?

If you want to believe it, fine. If not, fine. Details like this are not necessary for the belief itself.

Good question. I did not know that about Jewish days. Trying to do the time now. Are we sure Friday was the passover? at that time did they have it on a set day, or just at a set moment, cause i know they did use a luner month, which is shorter than our solar month.

In the grand scheme of things, it is not all that important to know what day of the week Christ was crucified. If it were very important, then God's Word would have clearly communicated the day and timeframe. What is important is that He did die and that He physically, bodily rose from the dead. What is equally important is the reason He died—to take the punishment that all sinners deserve.

On what day was Jesus crucified?
