WASHINGTON (Reuters) - For the first time, more than 34 million Americans received food stamps, which help poor people buy groceries, government figures said on Thursday, a sign of the longest and one of the deepest recessions since the Great Depression
Enrollment surged by 2 percent to reach a record 34.4 million people, or one in nine Americans, in May, the latest month for which figures are available.

Thats why the day after the election, I took the day off and went and bought as much ammunition as I could. If worst comes to worst, atleast I can hunt and feed my family! I also have alot of fishing tackle just in case I get tired of deer, squirrel, rabbit and the ocassional possum!

When I was much younger, my uncle told me that if I would build a levee around my field so the creek would not wash it away when it flooded that "Then they can't starve you out." I didn't know what he was talking about, why would anyone want to starve me out.

Well, as I've grown older, I now strongly suspect that he knew just exactly what he was talking about. I can grow enough food so that me and my family can eat. If it comes down to that, I may have to follow your lead and get some ammo so they can't take it after I grow it.
