Although this will never happen I think we need to look at some changes that could possibly salvage the season because if not I could see us losing at least 4 to 6 players going into the offseason (Graves and Moore due to graduation) (Jones due to injury and calling it a career) (Te'a, Nared, and Dunbar to transfer) and Diamond (playing overseas to get ready for the WNBA) and as you know there are no recruits coming in and we are likely to strike out on JUCO players also. The changes that I would make immediately would be as follow;

1.) Dave Hart should ask Holly to announce her Resignation but agree to pay her her remaining salary (if a buyout isn't reach) This would hopefully lead to him not firing her but her essentially stepping down on her own terms. Also ask that she release a statement about not wanting to destroy what Pat's built and that she feels it is best for the school to go into another direction. (This move would not hurt her reputation but the longer she stays the more harm she does to no only Pat's legacy but her own)

2.) Announce coach Elzy as the interim head coach and allow her to finish the year. From what I have seen and heard of her I don't think she is the problem, I think Holly is not listening to her assistant coaches and it is telling on the sidelines. When Holly decided to sit on the end of the bench during one of the games and coach Elzy coached the team they looked like the Lady Vols of old. She also did a great job when she coached them in Paris during the summer. I think being under Matthew Mitchell and also playing under coach Summit, she is not afraid to speak her mind and will light a fire under the players.

3.) Bench Russell and Nared
Russell needs a spark lit under her and I think Nared would be better served coming off the bench because the pressure isn't on her to produce. I also think their replacements (Moore and Dunbar) would not be afraid to score/shoot. Hopefully by benching Russell it makes her more hungry and ready to compete. She knows she wont be bench so she isn't worried if she doesn't produce but 6 points and 6 rebounds in inexcusable against a ND team that has their dominant player on Graves and not on our 6'6" Center

4.) New Lineups Starters/Bench
PG-Carter/Middleton/Cooper
SG-Diamond/Jackson
SF-Dunbar/Reynolds
PF-Graves/Nared
C-Moore/Russell

Dunbar and Diamond aren't afraid to shoot and Moore gives you more around the rim than Russell does, she even contest more shots.

I know some may not agree and that is fine, yes the players deserve some blame and we can say it is chemistry but we also have a few players who have high bball IQ's and when a coach is telling you something that doesn't go along with what you've always been taught or what you see as a player on the floor your faith and trust in that coach goes away and you tend to not listen to them which I think is where we at. Holly knew the type of player she was getting with Diamond coming over, she also knew the relationship the two of them shared and whether folks want to believe it or not they are/were a package deal and I am sure Holly has promised the two of them things that she isn't keeping her promise about (them two along with Carter and Jackson playing on the floor together.) Holly is the major reason why we look the way we do and we will continue this decline as long as she is at the helm. Let's get rid of her now in hopes of salvaging this season and not wait and miss out on key 2017 recruits.

Things may change when fans stop going to games and watching on TV. Definitely need some new ideas for the Lady Vols.

We act like it's been 7-8 years since we've made a Final Four.

And this team has Final Four written all over it.
Just ask that powerhouse Virginia Tech.
Just ask that other powerhouse Arkansas.

My goodness, can't our fans see what a marvel that we are offensively.
We work the ball in and out (of bounds) magnificently.
Our outside shooters sometimes even hit (the rim).

Plus our incoming outstanding recruits are so great that we haven't even listed any yet so nobody comes after them, I guess.

Our program still spends more money and has the largest fan base in the country. And, our silly fan base thinks that means that we should always be one of the nations elite.
Silly, spoiled, fan base. :birgits_giggle:

the scariest part of this thread is the thought of roster attrition which is certainly possible with NO recruits coming for next year!

How could we endorse a coach who can't recruit? It is unthinkable that she has no recruits for 2016. She should be fired for that offense alone.

No, it is VERY evident that Warlick has been over her head from the start, and I don't think her staff is very good either. Elzy certainly is fairly impressive when she speaks--more articulate than Holly, who shakes her head a lot, and says, 'gosh, darn, we just gotta get better." (That's the sort of sharp-eyed analysis that is wrecking the program.) I wouldn't turn the program over to Elzy, however: we have to bring in a bright, energetic, tough-minded coach.

Russell has been a disappointment. She badly needs some snarl in her game--an infusion of kick-ass attitude. She plays like she's in a sorority fund-raiser or somesuch. Will benching do the trick? Maybe--but my first step would be to tell her to stop playing like a pansy and try to reinforce that message, however it can be done, in practice. (I'd love to observe a few of our practices--the problems, at all levels, start there.) As for Nared, she's long and athletic--but like everyone on this team she hasn't found a comfort zone offensively.

I'll bite. Who would be willing to leave a successful program and come into a job where the previous person, who won 80% of their games, was fired? Its easy to say throw money at someone to entice them to come when it isn't your money to begin with. I think the really good coaches would be very hesitant to leave the comfort of their program and go into what the fans call a hot mess or a dumpster fire.
