Just watched the first of 2 new Chappelle specials on Netflix.

It was good but not sure it was worth what they paid him for it.

Special was lame..like..I snickered... a few times..but it was very underwhelming. Then I found out he got $60 million to do it..and now it makes sense. Not very funny at all which was sad.

I really really was looking forward to this and really wanted to like it.

I thought they were hilarious. The set up for the Bill Cosby joke and the evolving stories of meeting OJ had me rolling.

i think people whove never seen his stand up will think its underwhelming. or compare it to CS. it was very good. although, i like some racial stuff, and some political stuff but it gets old after a while.

My favorite bit was probably him talking about Shut the **** Up money and bringing up Jay-Z and Beyonce. I was rolling.

Dave Chappelle's sixth and final Netflix comedy special 'The Closer' launches today.
I just finished it. I enjoyed it. It was a little different in that he spent pretty much the entire show on one topic, but it was still well done. He’s a great story teller. Instead of a standup routine, I would describe this as more like an extended monologue.

Seems he has been transitioning to this style the last few years. Sometimes the stories aren’t even really meant to be funny.

you can tell the man has spent a ton of time in thought. never realized quite how intelligent he was, he truly is a creative genius in his own right. While I dont like all the shock humor sometimes, he always brings it back, and you end up laughing. Years ago I thought he was waaay out there ideologically, nowadays I find myself nodding to much of what he says. I find that gray in one's hair enlightens one.

1/2 way through - enjoying so far. I'm sure the woke culture will absolutely hate it
I haven’t watched it yet, but I saw where he was trending the other day and the alphabet people were all pissed at him. Which means I will probably think it’s hilarious. If you don’t like it don’t watch it.

I’ll have to paraphrase a little bit here, but one thing he said that really rang true to me was how the LGBTQ community is all about equality….. until they get the chance to be white.

I gotta say after finishing this one that it's his most thoughtful special yet. He clearly feels he's been misinterpreted on the topic and makes a pretty compelling argument for why and what his real point is.

unrelated - the beyond meat/impossible meat reference was so wrong but hilarious

I don’t get that he was mocking with ill intent. He mocked a few specific people he has encountered for coming at him then told a wonderful story about another he was friends with.

Like he says in the special, if actually listen to what he says he has never had a problem with Trans people.
People don't listen, they just attack.
