He just said he borrowed money from agents while at Auburn. He then said Auburn had nothing to do with it. Would this be cause for an NCAA investigation?

Probably more like the agents gave him money. I'm quite sure someone at Auburn knew about, but kept it hush hush. It would be a waste of time to investigate at this point.

There is a statute of limitations. They would have ran out hence the clever post about exhuming bodies was spot on. Lol

Who cares? He was just a broke country ass dude who had nothing and a school rolling in money off his back. So what he got paid a little or a lot. Get over it!

Happy for him. Did he get his education paid for? Yes. But every human needs money to live on. Period.

At least he said he took the money on loan meaning he paid it back. If it were Kentucky, he would've had a Mercedes, brief cases of cash and his parents would've been given a house....

Kentucky's coach Calapari gets 5 star recruits. I am sure there is no cash involved there. :eek:lol::no::popcorn:

You would have to have your head buried in the sand if you believe this doesn't happen at every major basketball program in the country. I believe boosters probably give out more money than agents.

The weekend before New Year's in December '13, I saw Charles Barkley (just wearing a cheap warm up suit and not as big as I thought) placing bets in the Mandalay Bay sportsbook. A guy who was standing behind him in line told me that he overheard him placing a $150K bet on Kansas City to cover vs San Diego (it lost). It always amazes me to see people who grew up with nothing so cavalier about blowing money when they make it big later. Fwiw, he had previously told SI that he wouldn't drink or gamble anymore after being sued by Wynn for an unpaid $500k debt. That was bs.

Butch just landed two top 5 recruiting classes. I am sure there is no cash involved there. At least Cal can get you somewhere professionally.

Iron clad proof.

The early 80s was a time when morals were loose in college basketball. Not surprised that there weren't more stories of this coming out.
