Charlie Strong

What kind of recruiter would Strong be at UT? Could he recruit top 10 each year? Could he get us in the top 5?

Amazing recruiter. Strong ties to Florida. Great guy, whom fans and parents of potential recruits respect. He would be a great hire. People need to leave the Gruden dream world and come back to reality.

Can't really say for sure. His recruiting at Louisville is decent. Mostly all 2-3 star kids. He does get alot of them from Florida though so he puts a quicker team on the field. Alot of speed down in FL. 4 million bucks would be alot of money for a HC with very little proven. JMO

Pete Carroll is heading back to college football. USCw wants him but Pat Haden doesn't trust him so says thanks but not thanks. Competition is between Tenn., Missouri, Miami, and WVa. It gets narrowed down to Missouri and Tennessee. My crystal ball went dark at that point but I think Missouri wins out. Mainly because Missouri is in close proximity to prime recruiting territory such as La. and Tx.

Now, at the risk of having my throat cut I advance some Dooleyism. He needs a defense guru to be a winner.

Fact is, this year the underachieving OL has gotten better. The underachieving running game has gotten better.

Except for Zach Rogers, the WRs have regressed. Bray has often practically walked the ball over to them and handed them the thing and they still drop passes. The Troy and NCSU games were exceptions.

Yet all in all, the offense is actually more productive than last year. The tight ends are more productive despite hits such as losing C. Clear and injuries. The RBs don't dance as much as before and if you look closely, they run with authority. Even lightweight Young in the Miss. State game was hard to bring down from time to time. So I figure at least on the offensive side, CDD must be doing something right. With any kind of defense, this team would have won the Fla., Miss. State, and USCe games with only the Fla. game being close.

If you ask me, which you didn't but still, the real problem is our LBs, and DBs are just slow. Opponent WRs and RBs just blow right by them. They also have trouble sticking tackles. The number of times opponents bust through tackles or slip off tackles is sad to see. You can argue that players are stronger these days but I think it's bad technique that's the problem. I don't think we have bad players, just untaught players. Teach schemes all you want but if they can't tackle the scheme is just a scheme that schemes the payers and fans both.
