I thought this might be a good idea, to start posting threads for different alumni associations throughout the country. I'll start the first for Charlotte NC.

The game watching location this year will be at The Fox & Hound in the Ballentyne area off of Johnston Rd exit (South bound) of I-485. In the past there has been one in the north part of Charlotte as well but I am not sure if they have secured one for this season.

If anyone lives in north Charlotte let me know. We could designate an unofficial location to watch the games.

Where was the one in the North part? Do you mean the lake area or university?

It used to be the F&H over in University off Harris but I think that location closed a couple of years ago.

I know the UAB game is going to be broadcast by JP. But will that game be televised in Charlotte? I know I can find out a week prior with the digital cable guide, but does anyone have any additional info?

Also, I think it would be safe to assume that if they're hosting the alumni group, that they will have the package or satellite.....or they fricken' better!!! :realmad:

NOTE FROM CHARLOTTE ALUMNI GROUP

Hello Alumni!
This Saturday is, of course, UT vs UAB!!! Kick-off is set for 12:30pm. This year, Fox & Hound will be hosting our viewing parties--and we, along with Fox & Hound, are really excited for the change in space!!....Doors open at 11:30am....As always, we will be offering door prizes through our raffle process; Fox & Hound will be throwing some surprises in as well!! If you aren't able to make it to the game, please come out to Fox & Hound and enjoy the atmosphere with fellow Alumni! Children are welcome as Fox & Hound is a restaurant setting as well...Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns! Thanks so much!

NOTE FROM CHARLOTTE ALUMNI REGARDING A BUS TRIP TO K_VILLE FOR USC GAME>

Hello Alumni,
We are planning on sponsoring a bus trip to the UT - South Carolina game, depending upon the amount of interest from the Alumni group--our deadline is Sept 10th!! Below are the names of those already committed to riding the bus. The bus is open to anyone attending the game (children are more than welcome!!). Whether you have your own tickets, bought them through the Alumni group, or will buy them on the street...the bus trip is a great way to relax on the way to the game---a place to sleep on the way home from the game---cheaper than spending the weekend in Knoxville on a hotel room---and is a chance to get to know other UT Alumni, and win UT items through the raffles!!! The bus will be a one day trip---no matter what time the game will be scheduled for....

I get those emails too. I will be at F&H on saturday, but am driving myself to knoxville for the USC game and will stay the night. I went on the bus last year to Columbia and had a blast, partly b/c it was my birthday and we beat the sh*t out of those Cocks!! Still had a blast!!

Did you make it to F&H? I was there and disappointed by the lack of enthusiasm and cheers, granted that could be due to the fact that we played like we were in high school.....but that's okay, we don't want to show Fla and LSU too much before we go whoop'em in their own backyard!!! BTW, what does 'bump' mean, I've seen it a bunch and always wondered?

No I actually made it to the game as a last minute decision. MY GF said screw work and we went. The stadium showed about as much joy after the game as a Sooner fan on opening day.

Bump is just a way to keep the thread at the top of the forum since most do not dive into the pages beyond the first.
