We've all talked about Tee, but what are the chances of Butch bringing in Chavis, would he come, and how would you feel about it?

I would love for that to happen but I have no idea whether either side would be interested.

I'd say high doutful rumors are saying he's bring his guy from Cin even though i wish we throw money for a big name!...but tee martin more important to this ball club if we can get martin and keep graham that would be huge!!

Get over Chavis people he is not coming back. Stop kicking a dead horse he was good when he was here but is a memory now so leave it at that. Remember bend but don't break or 3rd and chavious he had his time let go!

I wouldn't if I was Chavis. Why leave a winning team for a startup one ?
Besides, I think the next logical move for Chavis is HC.

Yeah, I remember a top 10 defense almost every year. I remember him having one of the best Ds in the country when people turned on him and his boss when the offense was the problem (mirror image of this year). I remember a defense that was better than the "Defense God" Monte Kiffin defense that came here that everyone worshipped. Yeah, I do remember that defense.

IMHO for love nor money does Chief come back.
He'll probably retire (or be fired) at LSU. It's just too easy to get quality players out of that state.
GO VOLS!

i loved john still do he`s a very good dc. i hope that we get on that can tech the basic`s and go from there. arm tackles and shoulder tackles don`t win games. open outsides and slow coverages don`t win games. i know some are happy with what we have but it`s not all that good. chavis would take running backs and turn them into linebackers hard hitting and quick to react to the ball. i do remember a track star he turned into a de, he turned out reggie white good. nuff said now we can just hold out and see what happens.

Chief's got too a good a thing going in BR.

SN: Chavis has expressed that he has no interest in becoming a HC.

Honestly, if Butch Jones brings in Chavis, then I'll lose all hope for the future (and I've said, I think Jones will be good here). Chavis is having great success with top notch players at LSU and he did some great stuff for us in the past, but I still remember all the games we just gave away at the end, how far back our DBs would play off the WRs, and how we were just absolutely terrible at open field tackling the last several years he was here. I have respect for the guy and I wish him well, but I don't want to watch another Chavis defense here.

Attention posters. We have just hired a new coach and the posters on the boards are already trying to influence who the coach hire as assistants. It is almost like parents telling their children what job they should take, which University they should attend and which person they should marry. Our new coach's future is a t stake and it is he who will be responsible for how the team performs. Are you/we willing to forgive him if he listens to us rather do what he thinks will make him the best coach possible. I hope he follows his beliefs and ignores all this unsolicited advice . I don't think any of the advice givers will be willing to supplement his income if he fails because he hire assistant coaches suggested by the fan base. Lets let him do hi thing and evaluate him after he has a few years under his belt asour coach.

Not that it will happen, but how sweet would it be if we pulled back all the alums like Chief and Tee to go along with Graham. Would love to get back to a home-grown staff.

There's a better chance Richard Milhouse Nixon will be our DC before Chief comes back.

Deep down, John has a lot of real love for this school and he would want to come back some day...but with all the homegrown talent he gets slathered in at LSU, I'm sure he isn't in a hurry. He probably wants another ring or two first.
