Did anybody else notice the black uni's with orange lettering? I've never seen these before, and was just wondering if this is new or ive just missed it.

Absolutly the best thread I have seen on VN in quite a while. I did notice that the dance squad was in black. Didn't notice the black on the cheerleaders uniforms. Got to go back and watch the game again just for this.

Most important question is will the cheerleaders wear gray this weekend. If they don't have gray unis, I guess they will have to wear nothing at all

That was the dance team. There is an "A" and "B" cheer squad and dance team. Cheerleaders in white. The three teams rotate through three spots around sidelines and opposing team's cheerleaders stay in 4th spot in front of their fans on lower level

I saw this also. They were cheerleader outfits with skirts. Dance team typically wears pants

You are right.
Dance team cheers on home sideline & Saturday they wore black. Cheerleaders cheer in front of student section near the band & they wore white on Saturday.

I was in the upper level corner on the visitors side and there were clearly three cheer squads out there.

two in white and one in black. The Black crew spent some time on my corner, we were in section HH right above the band.

Also, there were some three level formations... we got some talent down there for sure.

The black uni's clearly looked good. Here are some pics for the "pics or it didn't happen crew"

The crew in black is the dance team, as others have mentioned. They always wear a uniform that is primarily black to differentiate from the cheer squad, even when they wear skirts.

In addition to the black, the other difference is the dance team has no males on their group, both cheer squads do.

Great info.. thanks! Do you know what the big differences is between the cheer and the dance team? is the dance team like the JV for the Cheer squads? Or something totally different?

As a sidebar, one of the cheer crews came up into the stands and lined up down the stairs and lead cheers, one little girl got pulled out of the stands and got to stand with one of the cheer leaders... made that little girls day I am sure!

Thanks!

There are two cheer squads, A and B. A is basically a varsity, B is JV. Both squads cheer at football, they split men's and women's basketball games. The A team competes at the UCA championships in January.

Dance team is completely different. They don't do stunts or jumps, they exclusively do choreographed dances and perform in competitions like the UDA championship, which we won a couple of years in a row a few years back.
