There has been too much turnover in Staff and Players to build any type of Team Chemistry and Team Cohesiveness. Can't be done in one or two complete Seasons.

Add to it a couple of I love me type players and the discipline issues toward the end of The Fulmer era followed by the Pretty Boys group x2 (Dooley and Kiffin).

Monte Kiffin probably emphasized teamwork more than any coach. Hence the Defense pretty Solid group for two years.

A high Turnover Rate equals a Lack of Chemistry and Team Cohesion (Team Work). It is going to take a while to fix maybe 3 more years.

A lot of highs and lows to experience in the upcoming years.

CBJ is going to be here for at least 3 more years so prepare yourself to ride the wave. How he deals with his staff should be a tale tell sign and this period should be interesting.

Jones will be here 3 years. That's pretty much certain. There is also no reason to believe, at this point, that he is fixing, or will fix, much of anything.

I agree with OP. If for some reason after year 4 we are not a top 3 SEC east team, then we can make a change. I would give him 4 years though.

I don't see the AD or President not giving him 4 years, but I beginning to wonder if he can keep this staff for 4 years.

In order to keep the cohesiveness, I say staff stays. Only possible change would be a WR coach maybe.

What can CBJ say? I think he felt the 4-7 to 6-5 area would be where we finished. If Worley stays healthy we go 6-5 + bowl. A hundred yards passing would have won it over Vandy. He knows he has got to find some play makers and speed before we are a Saturday headliner. CBJ says he knows exactly where we are and where we are going, I personally believe that and also believe after one more year the bumps will be smaller and further between. He has said we are going to get a lot better, but he has never over stated our possibilities or short comings for this year. He has to have some time to make good changes. I am impatient and don't like to lose our name as a good football team, but we have, I also believe CBJ will get that changed.

Same thing was said about Dooley. It'll be 3-4 depending on whether or not we improve.

3 more years of this crap and you will have to put tarps over the top deck at Neyland

No they won't. They'll continue to sell BS and win press conferences with coaches, and we, like idiots, will show up 95,000-102,000 strong to watch second rate coaches and sub-par football.

Fans give theirselves to much credit for financial support to school athletic programs. We have still got a strong athletic department budget. University Presidential politics put us in the dilemma we are into today.

There are donations coming in from supporters, boosters and other sources regular. Someone gives up their season tickets and they are bought immediately. Fans are cyclic-tic
Old ones out new ones in.

Right now what we are seeing are season ticket holders not attending the games.

Until this team gets stability, it cannot get chemistry, and it cannot get team cohesion.

We were seeing it in the GA game, and in South Carolina with Worley improving each week then his injury occurred and the downward motion started. You can talk the game but internally this team was not ready for a change at QB.

Disturbing is the fact that Dobbs has been in charge of the offense for at the helm for 6 weeks with little improvement and that is on the coaches not to mesh him into a productive offense. Even if it meant running him more instead of playing scared like they did last night. If he had gotten hurt sorry burn the redshirt on ferguson.

We tried to play power football last night with a finesse offense.

I can understand the hurt. What I don't understand is no patience for a coach who has worked his butt off since he's been here to recruit players to turn this thing around. It will take at least one, if not a couple more, outstanding recruiting classes. This is the SEC and Butch virtually started with nothing.
GO VOLS!

Pretty sure Butch will be here 3-4 more years. Pretty sure apathy will start setting in. You can already see it.

Mine is not hurt but too much talk about it and not enough viable results. Disappointment in the staff of which the coach must accept all responsibility for this dismal performance.

Last nights game had an eerie feeling of the Ky, Vandy 1st, Mizzou and Miss St games of the Dooley years. I cannot image it taking this turn under Jones but damn does it feel that way.

Seriously worried about KY. Thought that they could go 8-4 but in the same breath 5-7. Now 4-8 is not out of the picture and we are in a perfect storm to do so.

On the comic side of this it seem like we have ended up on Gilligan's Island and were told its only a 3 hour tour. Will have you back in no time.

This team has fallen apart since Worley got hurt. Many people who are now bashing the team are the same ones who were clamoring for Dobbs and saying Worley was the worst QB we have ever had.

Last night I melted down like a lot of VN did, it's understandable. However after having some time to think about it, getting new coaches would be a huge mistake. We need to have stability in our program, that's one of the main problems with our team right now. It's an entirely new coaching staff for the third time in 5 years.

If we are this bad next year then I think it will be time to start really worrying. Now I am not sold on Bajankian, Jancek and Martinez. But I think we need to see what they can do with players that can fit their system. I think we can all agree that good players are usually a result of a system. But without the right players for that system, there is little chance for success. We need to see what happens when all of Dooleys players are gone and only Butchs players remain.

You're living in the past. UT hasn't sold out their season ticket allotment in a while. That's why there are some many single game and mini-packs. It's not just a UT issue but there aren't people waiting in line for season tickets.

I agreeliving in the past, but fans for the most part don't want to attend every game like they use to do. Package sales are more appealing and individual game sales will do well also. I have kept my tickets and will continue to do so with parking pass. They will be used by someone if not myself every weekend. Donations are drying up and it will take a win but there are a few dinasours left that still give with generously. A lot of fans did not realize how much of a hit we took when Coach Fulmer was sent packing.
