Apparently today was the late Chris Cornell's birthday. Chester sang at his funeral.

As if we needed another reminder that life is about so much more than money/fame. RIP Chester.

Never was a fan of their music but always sad to hear when someone ends their own life.

That's terrible. I've never been into his music, but he had a lot of fans, so he must have been doing something right.

Did he have addiction issues?

A long while ago. But I thought he was clean for a while now

A very sad day. My all time favorite band. I grew up listening to Linkin Park. I feel like a piece of myself is gone now too. They were the first band that I watched live. I have watched them live 3 times and was going to see them again next month. I'll never forget seeing Chester and Chris Cornell singing Crawling on stage together back in 2008 at Projekt Revolution and now they're both gone. I still can't believe this.

I read that he was raped several times as a kid. From what was inferred, it was probably a family member or love interest of his mom's. I don't know if he actually said who did it. He said that's what caused him to abuse drugs. I wouldn't be surprised if that played a part in his suicide. He seemed like a pretty nice guy.

That and he was bullied bad throughout high school. That's when he turned to drugs and alcohol.
