The schools aren't threatening to sue A&M, they're threatening to sue the SEC. A&M exited the conference by the prescribed procedure. The schools are contending that A&M was coerced by the SEC.

Ok, so it's a tortuous (sp?) intent type case then?

Yep. The claim is that the SEC interfered with a contract. Unfortunately for the schools in question, they have no case. A&M had a contract with the Big 12, but not the individual schools. The Big 12 waived its right to sue the SEC, and the schools don't have a contract that the SEC was capable of interfering with.

A&M has not done anything. If OK leaves first, the Big12 is caput and A&M can leave without any penalty or threat of lawsuit. Baylor should've kept quiet and maybe they could've bought themself another year to try and latch on elsewhere. Not that the Bears had much chance of getting invited to an automatic qualifier conference anyway, but after showing themselves to be sue happy nobody will throw them a bone now.

Of all the qualities that make Baylor unattractive to a major conference, I think their litigiousness is pretty far down the list.

Good points. Baylor went all in with this lawsuit stance...and even though it makes them look more unattractive now, honestly it was still probably their best play (other than waking up from their 15-year football coma a little sooner).

There's a plane traveling from Austin to the OU school airport (do they have one) and back today via that site that tracks planes. I saw this on the A&M to SEC FB page.

Reckon the t-sips are in panic mode?
