Chip Kelly started off his coaching career at Oregon with a loss and then he went 48-7. Will he be able to do the same thing at UCLA?

Will be interesting to see how it goes for Kelly either he kills or he completely flops imo

Kelly was a gimmick guy. Like a magician once everybody knows how you pull the rabbit out of the hat, it's not really magic any more. Kelly's gimmicks are well known unless he comes up with something new, he becomes just another mediocre college coach.

I agree he won't have the success he had before. Back during the coaching searc I mentioned something about this.

Even in his heydey when he brought the Ducks to Neyland and faced a Dooley led Vols team with Sims at QB, we were tied at the half with those guys. They blew us out and we had no gas or defense the second half but it was evident then they were all about gimmicks.

I think I remember being at that one... Was that the one with the crazy long thunderstorm delay at half?

He took them to a national title game. That puts him in the top 5% of active coaches.
