"Bold" prediction by Clay Travis this morning...Chip Kelly's next coaching job will be in SEC. My thought is,highly likely he is canned by Niners at the end of this month, Given the timing, probably too late for a job in 2017. So looking at the SEC Hot Seat coaches post 2017, CBJ has to be #1. Could the stars align for us to land Kelly for 2018?

Much crazier scenarios have been tossed around. Not saying the likelihood is high, but it's certainly possible.

You founder at two NFL teams, and are suddenly a hot hire for the SEC?

The luster of this conference is fading fast.

IMO, he ends up back in the Pac-12 at AZ or ASU. Depends on whether he wants to go back to familiar ground or take on the perceived challenge of the SEC.

Kelly will be with the 49ers next season. While the 49ers have been terrible, that has largely been due to the front office rather than Kelly. Their O-line is horrendous. Don't know if Kelly will survive long-term there, but he'll get at least another year or two.

Chip Kelly was only the HC at Oregon from 2009 to 2012 and posted records of 10-3; 12-1; 12-2; and 12-1. Not too bad.

I think that him remaining with the 49ers next season will allow for him to return to college football in 2018. He probably doesn't see the entire 2017 season with the 49ers and that will allow him to be able to accept a college HC job by next November/December.

How'd Carroll fair the first time around?

Which stint are you referring to. People seem to know very little about Carroll's NFL resume prior to the Hawks.

He was 33-31 as a NFL HC. He was in the league from 84-99 before returning to the college ranks. Won the AFC East with the Patriots.

He was not a bust.

People are infatuated with Chip. The Oregon program was built by Rich Brooks and Mike Bellotti.
Kelly was handed the keys by Bellotti and never looked back. I'll agree he was very successful at Oregon, he's been very unsuccessful since.
Time will tell if he will every rekindle that again.

I think people are very aware of his time in NE when he was winning.....10-6, 9-7, 8-8, with Bill's players.

Yeah, ok man. Bill was 32-32 with the Pats. :)

However Pete is currently winning with his "own" players.
