Looks like the Chiz will be let go by AU after the Bama game. Now for the big question, do we consider him for the job here? While most of you will probably say no, I'm gonna play devil's advocate and say that Gene would in fact be a homerun hire. Think about what Hart said in the press conference today. He wants an ethical man with HC experience who has been successful in the SEC. The Big Chiz meets all these requirements. Now it is true that he's had a couple rough years on the plain but other than Saban, he is the most recent coach to win a title. He accomplished what Auburn brought him in to do. I think he just got complacent with the job. Put him in a new atmosphere and we could be singing Rocky Top all night long after he leads us to a national championship. I would still take Gruden, Peterson, or Patterson first, but after that its all about the Big Chiz!

Ethical Man and Cam Newton...that's a major contradiction there........................

I'll put it this way...if UT hires Gruden I'll buy season tickets to give to my dad/brother. If UT hire Chizik, I'll send my brother money to buy up some mattresses. He'll know what to do with them...

Would you not take a national championship in exchange for a few bad years to go along with it? Gene knows how to recruit and would be even better at UT. The problem now is that he is under Saban's shadow. Plus this would be a totally unexpected move by Hart. Just when everyone expects him to be loyal to his Bama boys, he goes and hires an Auburn guy. The Bama fans would be freaking out. Plus they say that the Big Chiz knows how to work the boosters and wet their whistle. He just doesn't have the resources at AU.

Complacent just two years from an NC? Really?

Talk about a fall from grace. 2 years removed and already the program is in shambles. I've never seen a team fall so freakin fast.

Either way, no, I don't think Tn would be throwing cash at Gene.

Hate to break it to you boys, but your expectations are too high. Chizik is the type of coach that we can realistically get and afford.
