I've heard a rumor here in Memphis. Let me stress the word RUMOR. That Crawford was seen on Monday night leaving the Finch center with Joe Jackson, both of them loaded up with Tiger gear. I hope it isn't true, but my gut tells me he will be staying home.

It's possible, but he isn't announcing at the Finch center which gives us a little hope. I'm not expecting a commitment, but I wouldn't be too surprised if it happened either. I genuinely believe its a toss up right now.

Gee, I thought the Pearlophiles all said Cal's departure and the 'AA troubles Memphis had would make the Bluff City a recruiting playground for Tennessee. Guess Pastner is showing Tanning Bed who the real recruiting lightweight is in this state.

How surprising.

Let's see, the kid isn't good enough to cut it as a major player for you, but he is when it comes time to bash Pearl.

And, wow, I'm so impressed that Pastner pulled a kid from Memphis away from Pearl. Some kid who was dying to play for Memphis since he was learning to use the big boy toilet was going there if they showed any interest at all. When Pastner pulls a kid from Nashville or Atlanta from Pearl, then I'll be impressed. Until then, the "recruiting heavyweight" is just (outside of Barton) benefitting from a strong group of Memphis kids.

And, you should know the deal when it comes to kids from Memphis, especially the public schools. But, having a little perspective wouldn't fit with your personal vendetta.

It's ok....we all understand what you are about.

-1 And for the record, I've never said any of the mentioned. My book is still out on Pearl. Although some decided to shove their foot all the way down their throat before thinking about what they were saying when Cal left. But the constant hatred of Pearl is really quite annoying. And that's with me seeing only a few posts that someone else has quoted. It's like two high school girls fighting to be Prom Queen.
(in this case only one is fighting and the other doesn't care)

However, Going into Memphis (despite the fact its in the same state) and trying to convince a Memphis born and bred player to play for a bitter rival of Memphis would be rather difficult for anyone, including Pearl. Let's see the beloved Cheatin Cal or Coach K go into Chapel Hill and steal a Born and Bred Tarheel, legitimately - without cheating. It can be done, but it is no easy task.

Pastner did learn to cheat for recruits from the best around though. :)

I'm not among those who have been stupid enough to come on this site claiming UT was a legitimate contender for Joe Jackson, Elliott Williams, or anyone else out of Memphis. I just want that wing of the Pearlophiles to come on here and tell us how their dreams of recruiting dominance in a post Cal Memphis have gone so terribly wrong.

The fact that getting beat for a second tier player is a story speaks volumes about the quality job Pearl is doing on the recruiting trail.

Again, a kid from Memphis....you forgot that part. Someone involved in the recruiting game as much as you should know the deal. Or, you would if your petty BS didn't overtake your judgment. I mean, I could elaborate, but, deep down, I think you know why your statement is garbage.

If we get any kids from Memphis, I will be stunned. There is no more an anti-UT town anywhere and the kids seem to die to play for a school that will get any Final Four banner taken down and play in the CUSA wasteland of Rice, Marshall and East Carolina.

F- 'em. UT has a winning record against them without those guys and I even think we have a better NCAA record after all of the wins they had to drop in their two lost seasons.

Even removing '85 and '08, they've got a national finals appearance and multiple Elite Eights. Know your history.

Honestly, the kid could barely talk English on the live stream... no wonder he's Memphis bound!!! Seems like he would have been academically ineligible here anyway
