I just saw another replay of the deep pass by Ainge. I really appreciate Chris Hannon putting his body on the line to make the catch. He was parallel to the ground. Great effort, Chris. :clapping:

That made me sick. I have been really high on this guy for 2 years now, and he has turned into a flop. He sure thinks he is good.....I remember him during a spring practice declaring that "nobody in the country can cover me!" Well guess what buddy, they don't have to because you can't catch a ball, and unless it hits you in the numbers, you are not even going to try.

He also said that Tennessee Recievers are Wide-Blockers instead of Wide Recievers. I can give him a few good reasons why.

I cannot remember the last time Tennessee's receivers dominated a secondary recently once Stallworth and K. Washington left.

He has had plenty of opportunities this year to make plays and show he is as good as he thinks he is, and outside of the UAB TD has just tanked.

and if he showed more ability in practice/game situations, they would go back to him more often...

I thought that Hannon does not like Ainge and therefore will not try to make plays when he is in the game. If Clausen would have thrown it, then he would have stretched out. But then again, Clausen could not get the ball there to begin with.

I think there are a few of the older recievers that share Hannon's opinions of Ainge. I am led to believe that is why Ainge had the freshmen recievers in the game on his only series against Bama.

This is all quite possibly true.

Trust me, NFL scouts take note of things like not giving effort when they are thinking of drafting you. If he does make it to the league, he'll be a late round pick, and get NO $$$

If it is true, he is an idiot. He has made himself look alot worse than Ainge. I know if I were a few months away from the draft I would be doing everything I could to make a play regardless of who was throwing the ball.

It definately brings a new element in watching the ND game this weekend and how the recievers and Ainge work and who is on the field more than others.

I really think we will see some better play out of the WR's this weekend. Your OC steps down largely because of your poor play.....it would light a fire under my ass. Then again, I wouldn't let a ball drop a foot in front of me without at least attempting to lay out for it.

If the coaches didn't bench you or make fun of you in the film room, it would make it easier to give less effort.

I would lay out for the thing just for pride.

Hannon runs his mouth too much, he needs to stick to playing football, that's what he's there for......He doesn't take pride in what he does, what's he going to do if we don't even make a bowl game this year? I don't see that happening but he's going to be hurtin' for certain if we don't....He needs to just worry about playing for pride like Lex said instead of what is best for him

I may understand a LITTLE more if UT were up or down 28 points with time running out, but with a game on the line that kind of effort is nothing short of pathetic.

Spurrier made a comment about Hannon in one of his latest jabs. I cant find the article i read but if someone can post it that will be great.
He basically said that reciever didnt really put an effort in the endzone only going for it with one hand. If that his guy he would say a few choice words to him.

If Hannon or any other reciever or player is taking his feelings on the field in that form, then his A$$ should be benched and scholarship taken away....

Here is a quote from an article in the 11/03/05 edition of the Chattanooga Times Free Press......

<< "Tennessee had a few players that threw their helmets out, not all of them," Spurrier told The Greenville News. "But that guy that kept putting one hand up to catch the passes, that wasn't very good. I'm sure he's heard about that from his coaches. But most of their guys played pretty hard."

Spurrier was apparently referring to Tennessee wide receiver Chris Hannon, who didn't appear to make much of an effort on a deep pass thrown by Erik Ainge. The ball grazed off the fingertips of Hannon, who didn't dive for the pass.

"He either misjudged it a bit or just couldn't quite get to it," Fulmer said. "I'm not saying it's anybody's fault. That's the story of the season, really." >>
...................................................................................................

Guys, that is a typical Fulmer response.........P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
