I called the Animal last week to ask about this guy, now it looks like he is a candidate. Check his career out.

Probably not what most of you are looking for, but it would be a new direction for sure.

Hatcher is a great guy who gets along with everybody, and he knows how to put points on the board. He was the QB coach for both Couch and Bonner. At the very least, he would make a great QB coach at UT. OC would be a huge promotion, but I think Hatcher would be successful. I think Hatcher would be a great fit here. HIRE HIM!!!

When I brought it up on the radio Strange said there was no way CPF would open things up that much.

If CPF doesn't hire him someone will. He is a winner. Maybe the ND game will open his eyes a little further.

i agree fulmer will not open it up. he likes to play smash mouth football that is half of our problem. it does't work anymore. even grandpa joe at penn st abandoned it. that is the main reason i think we need new blood. maybe hamilton will pick the OC.

SD, I am thinking a younger guy may relate to the players a little better as well. Did you read the bio?

He may seem obscure, but I have firsthand knowledge of this guy. Hatcher is the real deal. His record as a player was phenomenal. He coached Tim Couch and Daunte Culpepper in Division I and his head coaching record in Division II at Valdosta State is pretty outrageous. Somebody needs to put this guy on their staff.

In fact, he's speaking tonight at the Macon TD Club and I am missing it. :banghead:

You left out my favorite: Dusty Bonner. I see him at the gym every now and then an we recall memories of highschool football in GA.

I thought about Bonner after I posted that. For the life of me, I don't see how that guy will be in Division II much longer. Somebody will snap him up and make him their QB coach. He isn't the most charismatic guy in the world, but then again, neither is SPF.

I hope that Borges stays put at Auburn. If he winds up in the SEC the Vols might regret it.

Tuberville has reaped the rewards of opening things up a bit. UT should follow suit.

Absolutely. But will CPF be willing to change? I am not sure he will. I think the biggest change will take place several years when he is gone. I think he may hire widespread for the OC job only to keep himself in the cool for a while longer. And we better hope the new OC can muscle a little leverage from him.

And hire a freakin Special Teams coach and not whore it out to everyone on the staff. :banghead:

I was laughed off of the Animal for good reason, but I can hold out hope that they will make a more drastic change.

We definately don't need anymore ringeye/roadwhore coaches.
