CBS Sportsline's Gary Parrish has him listed as the #1 shooting guard in the nation.

Hat, he better be sharp this year, with our inside game being up in the air, we are going to have to drain the three ball. Went to a couple of the practices this year, one of the guys I was most impressed with was Jordan Howell, he was flat out stroking the 3 in the 5 on 5.

That causes me more concern about our defense than it gives me optimism about Howell.

Actually, Brandon Heath is a better player than Lofton. If he played at UCLA instead of San Diego State, he'd be a Player of the Year candidate.
Yeah too bad that Larry Bird guy played at Indiana State. Just think of what he could've done if he was a Hoosier!!!

Watson did a lot to get Chris a lot of looks at the basket. He may have more trouble scoring as much next season without a good point guard.

At least he was playing at a school where surfing and sunbathing don't take priority over hoops. Heath is seriously, seriously good. Lofton is a very good college player. Heath is a 10 year NBA player.

I'm not concerned about that at all. Watson will be missed for various reasons, but he wasn't nearly the penetrator that Ramar Smith or Tony Passley are. Not to mention, Lofton is much improved in that area as well. Our inability to slash consistently last year allowed defenses to guard the perimeter more. IMO, Lofton will get more open looks this year.

Street & Smith's magazine also has him listed as a First-Team All-America guard. (Others on the first team are Ronald Steele, Nick Fazekas, Joakim Noah, and Greg Oden - three from the SEC.)

Ramar Smith will help us get over the loss of Watson a lot quicker than we think.

I hope you're right. I always liked C.J. and thought he was under-rated, but from what I've read and have been hearing, Ramar is supposed to be the real deal.

I hope Howell recovers 100% from the broken finger on his shooting hand. Hopefully there will be no lingering problems...

He was a great defensive player - we will definitely miss that. I still can't believe how he took Aldridge out of the Texas game...
Texas playing much of the game without a point guard had as much to do with that as Wingate did.
