The SEC's best recruiters, Part I - SEC - ESPN

11-25 today, 1-10 tomorrow

It was a pleasant surprise (for me, at least) to see Wilson only one spot below Gonzo. I knew Wilson was very respected in Louisiana and was known as a guy that just knows the game, but I was under the impression that there was more of a gap between him and Gonzo because of the way people here seemed to want Gonzales here. Granted, this is just one man's opinion (Chris Low), but it makes me a little more excited about Wilson especially when I already know that he is a good coach and not just a recruiter.

Yea i just question the fact that he's never coached wide recievers. Makes me a bit nervous

Same with me, but with his reputation I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt for now.

Did Trooper coach receivers before he turned Meachem and Swain around?

Good point; no. He only coached RBs before that. And I feel like Wilson has more knowledge of the game than the "chest-bumping clown," but we shall see.

Never make the mistake of attributing Meachem and Swains natural God given talent to Trooper Taylor's lack of coaching.

David Cutcliff was the sole reason they lived up to their potential in '06.

Trooper's WR's always ran horrible routes while he was coaching.

Ever catch yourself yelling at the screen in 06-07, "Why do the receivers run an 8 yard route on 3rd and 9 !?!?!?!?"

The answer was poor position coaching.

Last year I don't think we would have had one person on that list, maybe Drayton and Scott.
