The SEC was kicking tail and winning National titles long before Meyer ever stepped foot in an SEC stadium...Low is a mowron

Not going to read this but the SEC did fine without Meyer before and will continue to do fine.

I have to disagree with this one. The SEC has been bilding and building. This type of mentality would have left the SEC bankrupt after Bear retired, Gen Neyland left or any of the other great coaches the SEC has had. The SEC has endured and will continue to. Florida is still the Florida that Spurrier built and Meyer took to new heights. Thriving in a talent rich state against competition that is closing the gap (UM and FSU). But Florida is still in the SEC.

I'm not saying the SEC will not miss him, but the SEC missed Spurrier during his hiatus more than it will miss Meyer.

SEC and NCAA football are much larger than Urban Meyer and will go on just fine.
Obviously hoping things workout for his health. I was curious to see how he would follow up the success of the Tebow era, perhaps he was wondering the same thing.

Surely he's not serious, and if he is he's insane. Hopefully Florida will hire a coach who employs a Pro-Style offense and that will make the SEC stronger.

I think were taking the comments too literally. He is simply implying that CUM was a great coach and his attitude and banter among other coaches made for more excitement.

yeah instead of 3 recruiting giants. Kiffin, Saban, and Meyer down to just the 2. Big deal

Exactly. He NEVER said that the SEC was going to drop in talent or performance - where are y'all getting this? He's simply saying it won't be the same - and you know what? He's right.

Was the SEC the same after Spurrier left? No.
Was the SEC the same after Zook left? No.
Was the SEC the same after Phillip Fulmer left? No.

And it won't be the same after Meyer leaves either. Not that I'm going to miss him - but I did like the banter going back and forth between CLK and Meyer.

Even Ron Zook could win 8 games at florida. It doesn't matter who they get, they'll be a perennial contender. Hopefully they hire another smug, arrogant prick to keep the rivalry flames fanned.

perhaps he knew. Im calling it a smart career move on his part. His stock wasn't going up. It peaked last year and wouldve risen with a NC, but now its over, and he left while he stil could say he was 57-10.sounds a lot better than 68-22. ....he's smart and was well advised on this if you ask me. (Def not being flippant ab his health, I jus don't believe him.)

Florida can still hire a great coach. I hope they don't, but it's very possible.
I think they could get just about anybody they want....With the exception of Pete Carrol and Saban.....That's JMO

That being said, I kind of agree with Lowe.....Not in the sense of success that the SEC has had because as you all have said, the SEC has had their success long before Meyer came into it....I think that from a rivalry stand point especially between CLK and he, it won't be the same....I know I'm still looking forward to next year but not near as much as I was before now
