For chris low living and knoxville and covering the vols for so many years, it seams like he never has anything encouraging to say about the vols ever. Am I wrong? Am i just missing his good write ups about the vols?

1. Maybe he doesn't want to be a UT homer when his job is to cover the SEC.
2. I don't read every article however the one's I've read seem to be fairly objective from a reporter's standpoint.

In fairness the only way to write much good about this team has been to have a good imagination. I mean, c'mon, it's been a dumpster fire up in here the last few years.

Better days and better write-ups are pending I think. (I'm already looking forward to Signing Day for instance)

He's slow to give any sort of credit. I definitely think its so he can't be accused of being a homer

Honestly, there isnt a lot of encouraging things that can be said about us lately.

Me thinks the OP is looking for things to be offended by. Low has said several encouraging things over the years.

Some of you really need to either lighten up when it comes to stuff like this, or save yourself grief and just stop reading/listening to any of it.

I always thought he was pretty fair. I don't read much of his work but I hear him on the radio quite a bit. He doesn't sound like he hates us. In fact he sounds like he wishes we were good again. Talks about the glory days quite a bit.

Like others have said, I don't think there's a ton of positives to talk about. Hopefully this weekend we will change that.

Don't understand why so many people here diss on Chris Low. He's one of the best ESPN writers and definitely more likely to post positive stories about the Vols than any other writer there. The truth is that the Vols haven't been very good for the past five years, so his lack of glowing statements probably has more to do with that.

Im not dissing him by any means. I understand we havent been good and he cant jus make stuff up or say stuff that isnt true. I just mean you never hear anything on the positive side about tennessee from him. Other espn writers give us more love then he does.

What are you talking about? the last thing he wrote about UT was great.

"Butch Jones’ message: Lost in Tennessee’s gut-wrenching 34-31 overtime loss to Georgia was a message from first-year coach Butch Jones to Vols fans that was unmistakable: He plays to win, and that’s the way it’s going to be on his watch. Tennessee went for it on fourth down three times in the fourth quarter, twice in its own territory, and converted all three. It wasn’t just that the Vols went for it on fourth down, but the play calls were absolute beauties. Tennessee is still a ways off from being an SEC contender, but Jones continues to grind away … and stack those bricks."

Agree completely. Every time he comes on Nashville radio he throws barbs at the Vols while the same time praising Franklin and Vandy. Actually said earlier this year thst UT would finish at ir near the bottom of the East while Vandy has everything going in the right direction and could challenge for the East title. Huh?

He doesn't have to be a homer for UT, just fair. It's been bad enough here for awhile that he could just be down the middle fair and most everything he says would be a little negative and it would be understandable. But he seems to take gratuitous shots, damn near belittling shots at the team. Sick of it and him.

Ok, about 40 more of these "decent" articles should just about balance all the negative shots he's taken at them whenever I've heard him on the radio since the preseason.

I've noticed that C-Low is mentioned less and less on here and on local radio. The issue is taking care of itself.

Yea, it's pretty obvious that he doesn't have much love for the Vols.

The Vols haven't had much love for the Vols. Our program has been in utter destruction for the last 10 years. No news is good news as far as I am concerned.

It’s funny that he was thought of well enough by UT that he was made privy to the Chris Lofton cancer story and he held it till the end of the season. If he hated UT he could have made "The Headline" a priority, but he respected Chris Lofton’s wishes.
As for football, I think he knows we are heading in the right direction. :good!:

PS-Living in the SC Upstate, Clemson fans want us to beat USCjr bad. Talk about bad blood!

There's not? Last I checked we were inches away from upsetting the #6 team in country a couple weeks ago! Is that not encouraging? I guess to the negatives it's not!

I might be mistaken, but I think C-Low is an alum. We're harder on the Vols than anybody.

Have you been watching football for the past 5 or 6 years? Sometimes it hurts to hear the truth.

He's a dime-a-dozen sports writer whose job has been reduced to trying to generate web traffic... He's nothing more than that and never will be... What he says or doesn't say is more or less irrelevant, and why anyone would go to him as a source for news/opinions in the first place is beyond my logically being able to reason out...
