Chris Mack out at U of L

Bruce Pearl is the obvious choice. But given his NCAA history, and all the issues that the U of L Athletic Department has had over the past few years, they likely won’t go in that direction.

Louisville is one of the biggest whores in college athletics. They’ll do anything to win.

Ther rehired Bobby Petrino.

As a Vol firmly planted in Cardinal country (city? No one outside Louisville cares about the Cardinals, but anyway,) there’s is joy amongst my co-workers today, most of them wanted him fired a long time ago.

So where does UofL go from here? Can't see them going after Bruce with their current NCAA investigations and his history. Is Louisville still considered a top 10-15 job?

I think they’re a top 10-15 job. The NCAA is becoming increasingly irrelevant and I don’t think Louisville cares anyway

I'd rather see him somewhere outside the SEC to be perfectly honest.

It's interesting that they could be negotiating a reduced buyout. That seems to indicate there's something out there UL thinks they could fire him for cause for.

2of the 4 were on the FBI sting. Not surprised in the least that Louisville would consider them. They won’t tolerate being 2nd fiddle to Kentucky. FB coach is next if he doesn’t make something happen big next yr.

133k a month for 3 years to not do a job and he’s still probably one of the richest men in Kentucky.

But people still complain that players getting money from NIL deals is what’s really wrong with college athletics.

I was going to say: There's no way Mack stays in the hellhole that is KY, then I discovered his hometown is Cleveland OH.

He may think he's in paradise.

Eh, it’s not “downtown” but it’s close enough. The Yum! Center (yes, that’s what their basketball arena is called,) is off campus actually in downtown

I understand they get a ton of money to carry a name but why can’t they come up with anything that’s relevant to the sport?

Who really wants to say I’m going to the yum?
