Chris Peterson to Oregon?

It is my understanding that Chip Kelly and Bryan and Ed Glazer (Tamp Bay owners) are very close to a deal and that an announcement could be made as early as tomorrow (Monday 01.23.2012).

Rumors of potential candidates are already flowing. One to keep an eye on (IMO) is BSU's Chris Peterson.
Yes , he just signed a new deal. Boise State's Chris Petersen Signs New Five-Year Contract Worth $2 Million Per Year - Mountain West Connection *AO 12.01.2011 his buy-out was $650,000.00.
AND yes, he stated that he was very happy at BSU, BUT UO plays in the PAC-12 and Peterson likes the competition and challenge. Too, it allows Peterson to remain in the Pac-Northwest and remain close to family and friends.
If UO does offer and Peterson accepts, look for Peterson to make offers to Wilcox (Asst HC / DC), Sirmon (LB) and Lupoi (DL and Recruiting Coordinator). Although Wilcox and Sirmon just signed on with Sarkisian at UW, they are UO Alum bringing Wilcox and Sirmon full-circle.

It's conjecture...BUT based on the "craziness" that has transpired in College Football over the past 12 months nothing would surprise me.

Kelly is not going to leave the $$$$$ on the table at Oregon to coach a disfunctional Tampa Bay team. If anything, it is a bargaining chip to get some more shoe money in his pocket.
