Chris's new leaders are Tennessee, LSU, Florida State, and Georgetown ( didnt see that coming)per the Kentucky Scout site... UNC, South Carolina, and Kentucky are in the second tier of schools. The list seems to always change but Tennessee always seems to be on it... I think we get him hopefully!

Scout.com: Singleton names top schools, cuts list

Here's a little bit of the story i found interesting. Remember this is a Kentucky site that is interviewing him...

"The 6-foot-8 Georgia forward said that the Wildcats have been working hard to get his attention since the Kingwood tournament in Las Vegas, “I have been pretty much seeing them wherever I go,” he said. “But then again, I have also been seeing Coach Pearl (of Tennessee) and the other coaches as well.’

The Atlanta Celtics AAU program superstar said that he has already made unofficial visits to LSU and Florida State, and plans to attend the Georgia-Tennessee football game in the fall while visiting the Vols unofficially. “I am pretty interested in that visit. Coach Pearl has been a coach that I have developed a respect for. "

Tennessee- because we have been on him forever!

LSU- His teammate and good friend Delwan Graham is really considering LSU so maybe that is why there

Georgetown- because its Georgetown

Florida State - I have no earthly idea. He even out them ahead of Kentucky.....

Here's another Singleton story from Rivals.. Can someone help... Thanks in advance

Pearl should be going after higher quality recruits than this, I am dissapointed.

While he can be a head case sometimes, he still is a very good player and I would be extremely happy to have him.

Scout Ranking- #27 Overall 2 away from 5 stars

Rivals Ranking- #33 Overall 4 spots away from 5 stars

Florida State's in for a very simple reason. Leonard Hamilton is a fantastic recruiter.

I would expect more from Pearl. I am used to following Duke for a number of years, so I am spoiled. :p

Pearl has had a recruiting coup in his first 2 years, the fact that we have guys like Singleton with us as the leader is impressive. I have no doubt Singleton will be a great player at Tennessee, not really sure where you're getting these ideas that we ought to be only recruiting the top 5 guys in the nation.

Next time, please refrain yourself from such an ignorant comment. Chris Singleton is a top-25 player, despite what Rivals has him ranked at. If you are mad at him for playing the recruiting game, well, maybe following Tennessee recruiting closely isn't a good idea for you. You're talkin' about one of, if not, the biggest decisions of his life.

Singleton will be a stud at the 4 (or 3, depending on where he goes) and has a great shot at makin' a consistant early contribution to the team he commits to.

Duke/Tennessee bball fan here and I do not know as much about bball recruiting, but to be an elite program, you need to recruit ELITE talent and CHris Singleton is not that. Will he be at the McDonald's AA game? NO. So lay off an do not be so harsh bball gurus.

What makes you think he wont be at the McDonalds AA game? He is still very much in the running. We're sorry we can't get every single player on our team to be a McDonalds All American like Duke.... :realmad:

Singleton will not be an AA. I just can not get excited about a fringe 5 star player when we are trying to make our bball program elite.

But to get to ELITE status, you work your way up. You can't just target only the top couple kids and pray they'll commit. To suggest that recruiting is only about targeting the top few is ridiculous. If we were to do that, we wouldn't get them and by the time we figure that out, the 2nd tier of recruits are gone, and then we have to pick up stragglers and subpar athletes. Singleton is in the elite group of players.

Chism was a 4 star...he turned out ok, so did Lofton.

That's what Elliot Williams is for - we can't pick up 3-4 AA in one year.

And Leslie McDonald for the 09' class is as elite as it gets (although don't think we will get him but things could change :cray:)

look at Gerald Henderson, Jon Scheyer, Lance Thomas, Greg Paulus, DeMarcus Nelson, Marty Potcuis, and they are going to get Greg Monroe. That is an elite program.
