I think most of his appeal is because he doesn't look or act like a guy you'd typically see on TV. He isn't particularly polished and looks like a regular dude you'd see down at the corner bar or something on Friday afternoons.Dude is a no talent bum. Don't know how he has a job period.
Face for radio? He looks like Pruitt if Pruitt gained 60 lbs.I think most of his appeal is because he doesn't look or act like a guy you'd typically see on TV. He isn't particularly polished and looks like a regular dude you'd see down at the corner bar or something on Friday afternoons.
His rise on ESPN also coincided with gambling become more acceptable/legalized, and he was the gambling guy on the show.
Yeah I like him too. He’s a NY kind of guy which most southerners don’t like, but he’s been part of Gameday since the 90’s—just mostly behind the scenes. He has a wealth of knowledge about betting, trends, history, and yes he loves his ponies. I would occasionally listen to Stanford Steve and Bears podcast—always a some good info/perspective for games. People trashing him saying he doesn’t know anything about football are idiots. Sure he’s awkward and not an Adonis but the guy is crazy smart about sports.Him and Herbie are close from what I've heard. I like Bear for some of the reasons pointed out above. He's normal, not in a suit, kinda like the guy you sit next to in section D row 53.
He's also a big horse racing guy. Maybe that plays into the gambling angle and Fox will enter that space.
