I'd be interested in hearing if any other Christians think we are living in the end times. What have you seen/experienced to bolster your views? Obviously with the reimergence of Israel in the 1940's I can equate that of the sign of the fig tree and it's new leaves. I understand obviously not everyone here is a Christian and I'd be just as interested in hearing why you don't view this as the end times....as I realize people have been thinking this was for a long long time.

I am by no means a religious guru or anything. I am a God fearing man and believe in Jesus as my Saviour.

That said, I don't attend church on a regular basis as I should.

-I don't think the USA is supposed to be a giant of the world in the end days. Our economy is quickly taking us this way.

-Catholics say there will only be one more Pope (maybe 2, not totally sure)

-Europe has the Euro and I think we are headed toward the Aero in North America. That is taking us toward a world currency.

-Wars, famine, and disease are all over the world.

These are just a couple of things I can think of off the top of my head.

I am not here to argue whether or not we are in end times. I am by no means as educated on it as I would like to be. I typically know just enough to get myself into a bind when discussing these things.

If you're interested in last-days prophecy, I recommend you pick up a copy of David Jeremiah's "What in the World is Going On?"

It's very well researched and ties current event to biblical prophecies. It's an entertaining read.

since the Bible was first printed by Gutenberg I don't think a generation has gone by without seeing itself as in the "End Times".

We have been in the end times since Christ ascended into Heaven. I hate it when people try to predict the date etc., because every generation of Christians have reasons to believe the time is near. I do know we are to live as if that time is just around the corner- which is something I wish I did better.

I do find end times prophecy fascinating.

if you read the Bible and not just revelations, it gives a lot of parallels of what's happening now. the Bibles talks about how more and more nations will rise against israel and the jewish people. i think your seeing it now, even with America. Hussein is doing all he can to take israel's land away. If you really want to get on God's bad side, start messing with israel.

the end time talks alot about nations turning their eyes away from God and his word and how the church will become persecuted. look at the "hate crime" laws that are being pushed. eventually it will be illegal to preach against sin and homosexuality. you can look at the rise of homosexuality and athiesm as examples of America turning away from God..

look at our economy and countries pushing for one world currency. The bible talks about that.

the only think that is still far away is the rise of babylon, babylon is the city in modern day iraq. it is supposed to become a powerful force.

there are a lot of examples of what the Bible prophesized and what we are seeing today.

Where does the president playing golf fit into your Armageddonic vision?

Everything that is consider to be an end time event can be read to be a sign or vise versa. The one that will garner the most attention and rightfully so,is the rapture. While the word rapture is never used in the bible scholars across all denominations of Christianity universally agree the rapture is the sign of the arrival of the antichrist. The time line is disputed,as to when!
When people start disappearing across the planet, while your in conversations with them across a table and aircraft fall from the sky or half the football team disappears while leading the gators by twenty, people are going to take a hint.

I don't know if this helps anyone, but a barn roof in North Carolina this weekend told me that Jesus is coming soon.

I agree that every generation of Christianity has thought theirs was the last. I mean what do you think Christians thought during the 30's and 40's and the march of the 3rd Reich? Heck, Hitler was guilty of killing millions of Jews, and was pretty much well on his way of taking over the world. That right there pretty much fits the Antichrist bill to most people. It's a very fascinating topic and I love to read on it, but in the end you need to live your life to the best that you can, and love those around you (even if they don't agree with your world view). Because, for all we know, Jesus isn't coming back for ten thousand years.

That is the end of the Aztec calendar. Some odd things happen astrologically as well.
USA Today article
Another article on it

Wild stuff. All we can do is live our life, live it the best we can.

from the above usa today article....

University of Florida anthropologist Susan Gillespie says the 2012 phenomenon comes "from media and from other people making use of the Maya past to fulfill agendas that are really their own."

....University of Florida aside, this is one of the more prophetic, and probably true, statements I have heard about 2012.

Wars, famine, disease, global climate change, unstable economies, uncertainty on just about every major issue facing humanity... chaos and turmoil everywhere!

That is usually the way thieves in the night behave... with horns blaring and announcing to the world that they are approaching.

No way a thief in the night would come when we least expect it, during a time of peace, tranquility and prosperity... when people are more likely to turn their backs on The Word.

that's easy. Obama is Nicolae Carpathia, only dumber and more socialistic. The part that's tough to reconcile is how he's going to get his lily livered ass to Megiddo.

By the way, an argument can be made there is no "end of the world" even in the bible, but rather all that mythos is a collection of misinterpretations. Can someone point me to the word "rapture" in the bible?

I wouldn't ever claim to the know the exact date. But I know my children, their children, their children, their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children,their children, will not see Jesus come back.

Read scripture, things will actually get bad........... As of right now, I live better than 90% of the people that have ever walked the earth.

Western Society has bastardized the Bible on way too many levels!
