thought this was interesting...for years now, the team has been honoring one member of the Defense by allowing them to wear this guy's jersey....

Now, some of the players don't want to because it takes away from their identity as a football player...hmm.

I don't know about this....am i crazy for thinking this sounds selfish?

If the players don't feel wearing the jersey is an honor, then by all means retire the number.

I guess they are too young to remember now anyway...

That's the craziest thing I've ever heard. If anything, wearing that jersey gives a player MORE identity than just being another number on the field.

see, that's what i thought...i remember last year when Willis wore it...every time they were on JP, they brought it up....

The funny thing is that the players think somebody cares about the identity of who is playing DB or LB for Ole Miss.
