Coach Jones has some easy options.

Out of all the assistants from TN and Cincy, who SHOULD he hire/retain?

We all know Jones is an offense guy but will he really want to replace Chaney?

it would be the smart move to bring trooper taylor back. you could really upgrade your roster with him on staff. he would be the first call i made

No, Trooper is in NCAA trouble right now... he got pulled off the recruiting trail by Auburn a while back, and with our problems lately, that wouldn't be wise.

The saddest part of this hire for me is that ARKANSAS has managed to hire considerably bigger names for their last two coaches than UT. Why?

Coz they have had 10+ seasons except for last year and we havent had a winning season in years now !!

This.

And it's been confirmed that we've reached out to Tee, but unfortunately so has the Crimson Devil (per 247)

Dont think we'll be seeing Trooper around any BCS schools soon

I meant the CURRENT assistants. Jay Graham, Chaney, etc... Trooper and Martin are not currently on the payroll at TN.

I doubt he will retain Chaney, even though it might be a good idea. Chaney ran a no-huddle this year and got off a lot of plays but his offensive philosophy is much different than Coach Jones'. Who knows....maybe it comes down to whether Jones wants to try and hold on to Bray for another year...if so, then he probably needs to honor Chaney's contract.

I can't imagine that he would replace Graham unless he sits down with him and they just don't click at all. The whole defensive staff should be replaced...you can't be one of the worst defenses in the history of the school and set records for incompetence and have any reasonable expectation of keeping your job. Hinshaw, Graham, and Pittman should probably be retained....but I wouldn't be surprised if he replaces Pittman with his own guy and moves Hinshaw into another offensive slot just to try and save this recruiting class.

Keep Jay Graham possibly Pittman, fire the rest....especially any coach associated with....dare I say It....Defense

I think graham & hinshaw are your strongest recruiters. Wouldn't think anybody on defense could possibly be retained.

Chaney is tough call. Good passing game but will he mesh with jones's philosophy?

Don't know enough about Cincy's staff but would think he would want a few of "his" guys.

You never know. Chaney was a spread guy earlier in his career.

Go after Chavis with a couple of armored cars. If that doesn't work, maybe make a run at Chizik, if he has a clean NCAA bill of health.

Why do people continue to stick their heads in the sand for T. Taylor?? Apparently they don't stay abreast of what is going on in college football.

I could very well see him keeping Chaney. I know CBJ runs a spread but Chaney also ran it at Purdue and was one of the very ones who helped create it. It is although unlikely that he will retain him but if he does i dont see it being bad at all. CJC would be back in comfort zone again
