Am I the only person stunned by the absolute lack of NBA interest in CJ Watson? I certainly don't think he's a guy who can start in the L, but he can certainly be a serviceable backup. He's a decent shooter with good instincts. He's not explosive, but most backup points in the NBA aren't either. I haven't seen CJ on a single mock draft board. I find it hard to believe he doesn't merit a second round selection.

I agree. I think CJ is a guy that should get a look by teams in the 2nd round. As you mentioned, he's a decent scoring option, his effort and his energy are big positives, and he's shown a lot of maturity and leadership.

Of course, it could work to CJ'S advantage to go undrafted. Then he can look for a situation where he has a good shot of making a team. I'm also certain he would have multiple opportunities to play overseas. Udonis Haslam went to France and honed his game. It has certainly worked out for him.

CJ is good at a lot of things, passing, shooting, driving, and a good leader but isnt great at any one thing which is what seperates him from the other players on the board. If he could just work and become a great shooter or a great passer or have great ball handling skills then he could play next level, but he is a good player, but not great.

That said, I think most of us can agree he is still good for some small minutes in the pros. It's not a crime for somebody to exclude him from a draft board, for him not to appear on anybody's is a little crazy.

Please tell me what Will Blalock, for example, is great at doing. He wasn't even the best guard on his own mediocre team this season.

Rick Brunson?
Great comparison. Smart player. Good college career. Not great at any one facet of the game. He's been in and out(mostly in)of the league for more than a decade.

I don't think he will be drafted. Just a personal opinon.
I don't either. However, I see guys on League Pass on a nightly basis during the season that he's every bit as good as.

Best bet for Watson is to go to europe and italy leauges and tear it up over there. We have had tons of talent do great in college and just not cut it in the NBA. First player that comes to mind is Ron Slay for me.

He reminds me of Avery Johnson in his day.
After considerable thought, Rory Sparrow is the old school comparison I settled on.
