I didn't open it, but did react to the headline. Gullible me.

It has happened before, Gail Gastenkors and Mickie DeMoss did it. But I think it's way too soon for Kellie, esp in the SEC.

I'm curious if the Harpers are still in Knoxville. Hope they're doing well. Has to be a very strange fall for them.

Yeah, it would be unusual to move before knowing where your next job will be since you would just have to turn around and move again. And as you say, the kids get uprooted too.

I would think Kellie would stay away from the SEC for her next job. That may be too awkward right now. If she is willing to be a top asst. coach or a HC she would have lots of options. She will land on both feet I'm sure.

That would be a good fit, but unless ETSU's season this year is an absolute disaster, I think their coach is pretty safe at the moment.

Losing a coaching job is like having a close family member die. You need at the very least a year to grieve, then get together with some wise and trusted basketball minds to re-examine if there was anything you could have/should have done differently.

Once she's either determined what changes she'll make in her coaching approach--or, had her philosophy and methods confirmed (accepting that the breaks just didn't fall her way at Tennessee)... then would be the time to consider taking another coaching position.

Where she coaches won't be nearly as important as that it is fun again for her.
Gotta fall in love again before you risk your heart.
