I think it looks like it will be pretty good. This needs to be in the Movies forum though.

Lived the original as a little kid. Watching it now, it looks like I made it. Remake will be solid and is needed.

I loved this movie when I was a kid

I had it on video disc--not the shiny, big CD kind, either, but the old plastic thing that looked like a record cover and played in this thing:

I don't know if I watched this, Old Yeller, or Secret of NIMH more, but all three number in the hundreds.

Hey, new movies were hard to find...

same way they thought redoing Red Dawn was a good idea. Hollywood is the most unimaginative place in the US
Exactly.

There are no more ideas in Hollywood, so now they are rehashing old material from 30 years ago or just coming out with sequel after sequel of movies that were hits. Next summer, I'm sure we'll probably see a Matrix IX, Son of Conan the Barbarian and Howard the Duck III in theatres near you...

fwiw, I'm still angry at how they remaid The Manchurian Candidate.

BTW, when was the last time anyone remembers saying or hearing someone say, "Geez, they really need to remake Clash of the Titans..."

Just saying... how did this script ever make it to the "greenlight" phase?

It's..................here!

Ben looking forward to this. Hope it doesn't disappoint. My only concern is whether to see it in 3-D or regular screen. I have heard it plays better in regular format. That the 3-D is average. Oh well I guess I will find out. Just checked the local theater it's only showing in 3-D.

going to see the 2D version in an hour. Carmike 16 on N. Peters has both 2D and 3D versions.

Loved the original. Can't talk myself into caring about the remake for some strange reason.

Yeah. I loved the original, too.

I went and saw the new one in 3D over a long lunch. Eh...

6/10 if for no other reason that Gemma Arterton and Alexa Davalos are so easy on the eyes.

Average 3-D these days is OK by me.....

Stunning conceptually and visually. As far beyond the Original as should be expected. 7 outta 10.

The 3D for "Clash" was an after thought, so don't expect the same Avatar type special effects.

Yep, it sucked. Clash was one of those you just couldn't/shouldn't touch. It was captivating and rich with Greek mythology at every turn with an excellent cast. Why remake it?

Why do people get so upset over remakes? This movie in no way effects the original plus there is a whole new generation that has no idea the original even exists. I lot of people don't realize that a lot of classic movies are actually remakes.

No, I saw it, and I thought it was a watered down version of the original glammed up with nifty special effects. I'm probably biased because the original was just so magical for me when I was a kid.

That's why it'll kill in the box office... the masses tend to have simple tastes and the remake exploits it.

I was somewhat excited when I first heard of it, but I was very skeptical. Yes, the effects in 1981 were bad, but it was flawlessly cast and it stuck to the actual story very well. The remake was the opposite. Don't get me wrong, I love good remakes... but Hollywood has a tendency to really screw around with remakes in order to sell tickets.
