Well we finished #9 which is really good with what we had happen 3 weeks ago.

However, how did USC past Florida for the #1 spot?

USC should not be ranked ahead of Florida, Florida's class is unreal...one of the best I have ever seen.

USC signed some great talents but no way they should even be close to the Gator's class.

I just saw that myself.... I thought they would be short and around 15... now at 20 with X..... pretty hard to believe.... leaves a pretty nasty taste in my mouth.... I was really hoping USUC would finish below us....

This just in: It appears that Kiffin and Ogre was not happy that they werent ranked the #1 signing class. So in typical fashion, Ogre went into the Rivals studio and ripped his shirt off and fired everyone up so much so that one of the interns re-edited it so USC would be number 1. It is also reported that Kiffin had a briefcase full of money and left with no briefcase. The NCAA is investigating this and will report its findings in 5 years from today. :stop:

I value rivals star evaluations as the best, but their class rankings formula is completely bogus.

Florida picked up the #1 and #5 players out of CA and has 4 more 4* and 1 less 5* than USC not to mention 8 more total recruits.

I hate UF and USC, but there is simply no way that USC's class is better than Florida's. . .Scout and ESPN got this much right.

if rivals class ranking system is bogus i dont even know how to define scout's[/QUOTE

Scout's team rankings are ridiculous, but that is a reflection on their strange talent evaluations and subsequent star assignments.

From what I just read on another site, Rivals only uses the top 20 recruits from each team to determine their team rankings. This may be common knowledge to most, but I didn't know this.

If true, then their rankings just became exponentially more mythical/irrelevant to me.

I saw this coming when they were at No. 2 with 18 commits. It seems that half of there class is 5 stars.

UF and USC are in a league of their own. Simply amazing.

They have 20 commits and average 4.2 with over 3000 total points. Wow. Sick and wrong.

And with that kind of talent, USC will be very good.

What are we on scout?

And ESPN having USC #7 is even more retarted IMO

No its not "retarted" at all, ESPN tries to put out a unique ranking of players and their team standings reflect this.

I don't value the star ratings of ESPN very much at all, but I think that rivals constantly overrates CA prospects and USC is CA heavy so I don't have too much of a problem with ESPN's ranking in this case.

Rivals only counts the top 20 players in a class so every single one of USC's recruits counted towards their score. Florida on the other hand had multiple four stars recruits not counted towards it's score because they weren't in the top 20. if i'm not mistaken Chaz Green coming on board only netted us 9 points.

USC did do better than Florida with their top 20 players, at least using Rivals' player ratings. What will really matter, which consequently won't be reported on, are the enrolled rankings that come out in August.

Stanley won't qualify and Henderson won't sign when they get nailed by the NCAA.

Southern Cal will be on probation soon I hope. They also will have to compete with a real program at UCLA and better talent at Cal and Washington than they have had lately.
