I just got back from Columbia. I don't know if they made a big deal about it on the JP broadcast, but that place turned into a ghost town when Houston scored on the opening play of the 4th quarter to make the score 29-8. I know it was a 3 TD lead, but there was 14:30 to go in the game and they were about to get the ball back, but people were running for the aisles?!?!?
:bad: :bad:
Those fair weather fans missed 3 SC TDs and about 200 yards passing.
:shakehead:

Were there a lot of Vol fans there? You could hear "Rocky Top" on TV.

We had a ton of fans there.
We were tested early when the team "just happened" to run out the tunnel onto the field just as they fired up the 2001 theme that SC uses to run out onto the field on the stadium speakers. Our band proceeded to play one of the longest, loudest renditions of Rocky Top on record and amazingly drowned out the stadium PA system. You could hear them jacking up the volume on 2001, but it got to the point that they had it so loud that you couldn't even make out what was coming through the speakers. :dlol:

How did Kessling get to be their PA announcer.
