Actual quote from Volnation 3 weeks ago after KY loss:

Rick Barnes is a good man. I just wish he was a good basketball coach. We’re not even going to make the tournament this year. Sad. Fire him! He has to go!!

I've seen some foolish, ignorant posts on this board at times, but that one may take the cake................

I pray daily for all the Vol coaches and AD to be like this for those within their purview. We have to remember these are college kids. They may be very talented, but they’re still immature and finding their way. A coach who is a mentor and who sets such an example for people is invaluable. I feel that UT has such coaches now and I’m thankful. There’s no telling how much of an impact they have on people.

After a loss to Kentucky 😂 What are the odds we could replace Barnes with a coach who would achieve a better record against the Wildcats?

That shouldn’t shock anybody. There are people on this site that wouldn’t know a basketball if it hit them square in the nose. Totally ignorant post but par for any number of posters here.

As much as I love Tennessee athletics, in the bigger picture, I love my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ more than anything. Coach Barnes is a great ambassador for the Kingdom of God. Parents can rest assured that he will be a terrific mentor and an even better example for their child under his tutelage.

What's with Big Tech trying to force us to identify who we are. I clicked on the tweet to read it, all of a sudden I get Google, gmail, telling me they would use my info to setup an account picture and all. They've been asking for birthday for at least a year.

I don't recall twitter ever doing that. Are twitter and google in a partnership?

I’m damn near ready to go off the map.

*crickets* from the Barnes haters

It is possible to think, as I do, that Barnes is a good, solid, decent man, be proud of how he represents the school, be very humbled and impressed by the message to Vitale, and still feel he has reached his peak and has started to slide as our HBC. I don't think the world is divided between Barnes haters and Barnes lovers.

He has earned a graceful exit over the next couple of years, and I hope he and the AD can make that happen and can make the transition smooth for all concerned.
