How in the world is Jimmy Clausen 20??? They just announced that he just turned 20, how is that possible if he just graduated high school??? I was 17...

The "offensive genius" that was Charlie Weis seems to have disappeared. I wonder if they'll run him out of town, or if that only happens to black coaches at ND

Clausen was held back on purpose....so he and Marc Tyler...Wendell Tyler's son...could play together at Oaks Christian.

I'm pretty sure he got held back on purpose.

Ditto....Jim Clausen has his priorities out of whack and wanted to insure his youngest son was the top rated player in America by his senior season....An ego trip but an extra year of maturity makes a big difference at that age and there is no doubt he loved the attention....What happens when the Domers come to the realization that he is nothing more than Casey JR (the oldest Clausen boy they didn't offer back in '00)??????? I don't think they will be as impressed with his money as we were....

FWIW, Heath Shuler was also held back in the 8th grade to give him a leg up on his peers in High School.....

Listening to Fox Sports radio yesterday AM talking about how young the Domers are made me want to call in with this information. Jimmy C isn't young at all. I was 20 when I began my senior year of college.

I'm 20 in what should be my Junior year... he's only a freshman. How many years was he held back?

I guess it didn't matter for Jimmy Clausen, but holding children back for athletic purposes is stupid. Don't these parents realize that scouts and coaches take into account an athlete's age when evaluating his/her talent.

Yep, he was held back without a doubt. Unfortunately for him, he's not playing in high school anymore and things have caught up to him.
