None of the media have talked about it yet, but my Dad said that Clausen left the field Saturday on crutches with a big bag of ice on his knee.

He actually hurt it in on 2nd down of the last series, which gives him a little bit of excuse for the missed passes. It also explains why he didn't join the 3 who talked to the media after the game- something that bugged me- he was getting medical care.

While I'd like Clausen to be okay enough to start his final game as a Vol, it doesn't sound good. That said, it may be the gods are conspiring to give me something I've been praying for, especially since it's his last game too......

Cooter to the Rescue!!

I'd like to see Ainge come in and at least see if he can do anything. Let him get his confidence back going into the offseason. If he does bad, theres always Cooter....

What the hell, might as well see what happens.

Watch him come in and throw for 200 yards and a few TD's......and no INT's.

Irony at it's best.

I was wondering about that. He looked brilliant throughout the game up until that point. :disappointed:

From TriCitiesSports.com:

Rick Clausen suffered a sprained knee on the final play of the game and Fulmer listed his as "doubtful" for the Kentucky game.

"It's at least a strain,'' said Fulmer. "With Rick's situation, it's likely Erik (Ainge) will start the game. It looks very questionable whether Rick will be able to go.''

JIM BOB COOTER GETS MY VOTE AS THE STARTING QB AGAINST KENTUCKY!!! :eek:}

Apparently there's an echo in here...

At least it's a really, really intelligent echo

I vote we just kick it to them when it's out turn. RC, EA, or John Glenn. Heck, it doesn't matter. We can't score against air right now; and if air had hands, its defense would outscore us off of turnovers.

He's already graduated. Im sure he is wanting to finish what class he is taking and head back to cali. I know i would after this season. With all the stress and worrying we wont have to worry about Jimmy ever coming here. No big deal to me though.

I wonder how bad Ainge will have to be before CPF would put in Jim Bob? Three interceptions? Four? 0 - 10 completed passes?

I really do hope Ainge gets his act together and takes us to a win, but I honestly doubt it.

Go Big Orange! Beat the Cats. :cross:

Let Ainge start, if his performance sucks put in Jim Bob Cooter. He can't play any worse than EA or RC have at times. He's not on scholarship, give him a shot.

Perfect time to make a statement! Let JB start! Statement being........ here is a guy who maybe doesn't have the most skill, yet he has done all the right things and if you want to play. Follow his example! Will it happen, no. Hence the problems which have gotten out of hand! Why does it take a parent to call you out? God bless Mrs. Brown!

If you don't start the Cooter, at least direct snap to Foster.

BRING BACK THE SINGLE WING FOR ONE WEEK!

I for 1 say put Taylor in at QB. I mean I know he is not our future but Fulmer listed him as #3 earlier in the year. Why not use a game that means little to nothing...to see if your 3rd team guy has the goods to get it done? I would also say Cooter should be seriously considered. I mean these guys are listed at QB why not let them turn and hand the ball off 50 times like everyone knows we are going to do. I also feel like Foster really needs to be taken care of IMO. I hate seeing him carry it 40 times by himself. We have other RB's here who can carry the ball. Sure Foster did a wonderful job and I could not be happier to have him...but to see him go down(injured) God For Bid in the 4th qtr of a game that means NOTHING. I would like to see him end this year with about 20-25 carries and maybe 150 yards. A healthy Arian Foster going into 2006 will be a welcome thing to me. Foster is in a great position, he could be well on his way to leaving UT as the all time leading rusher. Fostermom....thanks for letting us see your boy grow into a man and maybe see him put his stamp on UT Football. Go Arian....Go Arian
