He wasn't given ample time for his system. One year....players weren't cerebral enough evidently. Also, Coach Fulmer didn't give free reigns to call stuff. We've seen Clawson can be successful elsewhere given time to develop.

Yep. Clawson is probably exaggerating but you can bet the house that some schools are tampering with players not in the portal. Welcome to the new world of “college” football.

this. I had a couple classes with some players during that time. Fulmer was giving 0 effort at the end. didn't even know all the player's full names. and that includes some of the starters in 2008.

Had ‘05 not happened, I feel he would have let the system play out in ‘08 and been rolling in ‘09. I think we all knew something bad was happening when he reverted back to the old offense half way through the season.
