This is a direct email to me from a friend of mine on fvsports.com that works in the recruiting department @ southern cal and does some odd and end things for rivals and some of the high school combine work.

"He's from Edison HS in Fresno and plays with USC commit T.J. McDonald. Coached by former Trojan great Tim McDonald. Tim has said Cliff is the best corner he's ever had and in just the past several years he's had Ricky Manning (UCLA), Courtney Viney (UCLA), Robert Golden (Arizona), and some others. Great, great secondary coach, Edison has the best secondaries in the nation every year.

Anyway, Cliff's been considered an SC lean for some time but his dad's from Tennessee and is pushing him there. I don't know if you guys have offered yet, just going by what T.J. told me. Should be a USC/Tennessee battle. Thought I'd give you a heads up for your various Vol discussion."

Maybe if someone could pass this on to the UT staff we could get some groundwork going here.:eek:k:

sweet, nice info.

Has Tate Forcier's dad posted his UT letter yet? There are phone numbers on there. :)

It looks like USC is on his list but UT isn't. Phil and the boys better get busy...
I know this doesn't always mean anything, but you would like to at least see us as one of the schools he is interested in.

apparently his dad still lives in TN. He is currently living with Ralondo Jefferson, another high profile USC recruit.

you would think we would at least be on his interest list if all of this were true. I just find it hard to believe that if his father is pushing him to come to UT that he would not have us listed as a school of interest.

they dont have a lot of teams listed for whatever reason. auburns most recent commit doesnt even show an offer.

coaches arent allowed to say who they have offered or talk about the recruits so the recruiting services have to get it from the inner circles or the athletes themselves. So they cant possibly know everyone that has offered a lot of the time.

recruiting services aren't right all the time.

recruiting services by no means are 100% reliable.

Ummm...we get the point.

but if they weigh him at a combine I think that weight is more reliable than what is "reported".

But I'm sure he's bulked up from his Soph. year. 142 is tiny though, :).
