Off the chain without a 'cane

This response pretty much sums up where I'm at.

Interesting article, Mr. Ostro. I am a true weather geek who watches the weather channel religiously. I honestly am trying to understand and convert to the overt Climate Change POV that your cable channel daily pitches to the masses. However, when the experts continue to blame extreme, yet opposite weather conditions such as drought and floods on the same reason, Climate Change, then I become skeptical. These "experts" were just last year blaming the severe drought in North Georgia on Global Warming. Now GW is suddenly the cause of the recent disaterous floods? I travel to the metro Atlanta area several times a year. It is a fact that this area has seen tremendous growth this past decade. What was once open green spaces that soaked up the rainfall is now paved with asphalt which funnels the water into storm drains and on intio the rivers and streams. This would cause the creeks, rivers, and roads to flood at a quicker pace that 10 years ago. In short, Mr. Ostro, your story sounds like the ones written by one grasping for straws. It is smiliar to those written 5 years ago by experts who said we were going to have more killer hurricane (we have not), hotter summers (we have not), warmer winters ( we have not), and coastal flooding. It would be refreshing if for once some of the experts would play the devil's advocate and expound on the notion that some extreme weather events are being caused by global cooling. There is plenty of evidence that would back up that claim as well

don't you mean George Bush is the cause? I mean, it's obvious...if he caused Katrina, wouldn't it be logical that he caused this flood?

Well, it was ATL. And we know how Bush hates black people. There's a bunch of them there to f around with.

How about a low pressure system and a few clouds that stayed over the area. Plus I know in my 52 years here on the earth that this was the first time it ever rained for about a week and a half. Good Grief, give all this global warming, Al Gore lying, a break! Weather patterns over time.

Who cares, it's not like it matters anyway. In 100 years we will have private spaceships and leave this wretched planet. /endsarcasm.
