People in Detroit don't known jack **** about pulling themselves up by the bootstraps and getting the country back. All they know how to do is elect liberals who pander to them and do the unions bidding.

Take bailouts etc. That should not be the American way. Detroit can kiss my ass. Canada can take the place for all I care

My wife and I laughed at this commercial when we saw in Sunday night. Eastwood tells us that we'll rebound just like Detroit. THEY WERE BAILED OUT BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT!!!
Is that the message we should receive from Mr. C'mon Punk, Make My Day??? Don't worry about your obligations because someone else will come along to save your butt in the end.

all I can figure is the "we all pulled together" line which could be taken as a reference to the bailout and "the second half" referring to a second Obama term. Ridiculous.

Leno had a good one (which is rare). It may be the second half but the Chinese have the ball and we're down by 16 trillion...

I think "the second half" referred more the recovery than Obama's second term. After all, he was a McCain supporter.

The commercial had me shaking my head. A "Yay America!" commercial paid for with 16 million dollars of tax payer money by an Italian-owned company.

consider the source but

Clint Eastwood's Chrysler Super Bowl Ad: The Untold Obama Connection - The Hollywood Reporter

Several members of the Wieden+Kennedy team that produced the Eastwood spot were among the creative professionals who privately supported Obama’s first election campaign. Creative director Aaron Allen, for example, created a striking poster, called "United the States of America," on candidate Obama’s behalf. The poster shows an Obama silhouette bringing together red and blue spheres meant to represent America’s partisan division. His official bio notes that he “also works on personal art projects, including a poster for the 2008 Obama campaign that was shown in several galleries and publications.”
The ad’s art director, Jimm Lasser, created an entire art exhibit in New York around Nike-style shoes bearing Obama’s image. Another of the creative directors, Michael Tabtabai has used his Twitter account recently to send out the message “Obama x Incredible Hulk. America STRONG!” and linking to an image of an action doll of the president looking like the comic book super hero.

TSN playing 1980s hockey highlights instead of a CFB bowl game

I have a Canadian friend and we were in Vancouver. TSN came on (Sports Centre) and I remarked how nearly identical it was to ESPN and wondered if it was connected to ESPN.

He got testy and said "You know, we have our own stuff up here too" or something like that. Turns out I was right. Silly Canadians.

oh it's connected, but don't mistake the two. One shows too much baseball, the other shows entirely too much hockey.

I know why he reacted that way. lol. I have family in Canada and when they visited me in College, my roommates mother didn't know Canada had their own currency. smh.

Yep - he lost it a couple times. I admit I asked some dumbass questions but the chip is definitely there. I guess it comes with being America's hat.
