Now, I'm not saying that I dont like CLK because he isn't getting players in TN, but he is getting some like Jacq Smith....but there are some players that I have had the privilege of watching them play. First, in TN Walker Valley...there lineman are huge but not so sure about the productivity. Next, McMinn County, the McDormett kid he is a awesome athlete & has good potential. Alcoa, of course (Randall Cobb) who Fulmer missed out on..but their TE I think whose name is Tyler Robinson has pretty good athletism for a TE who I think also is committed to UK...also from Alcoa,Taharin Tyson is a well built RB & LB...but he could possibly fit in TN system as a FB in my opinion...Next, go back to McMinn County & look at 4 McMinn Central players...1) Josh Moss 6'3 WR, he has pretty good speed & great catching ability. Next, 2.) Ben Stiles, he reminds me a little of Will Overstreet & has great potential he is a DE & OL but mostly DE & has great moves to get off blocks 3.) Zack Rayl 6'3 QB, has great arm strength and runs a 4.5 40 according to Rivals.com * finally MCentrals kicker has kicked a 60 yd field goal in practice w/ ease & a 50 in a game...get back to y'all on the K name...pot replies.

So which players are you saying CLK stops chasing in order to make room for these guys?

These guys know what they are doing...I have full trust in them. I'm sure the players you mentioned are great, but nothing about this staff has proven to me that they don't know what they are doing. They go after simply the best players in the country, and pull them, can't blame them for that.

CLK will do everything to get the best players in Tennessee. The guys you mentioned are not SEC material... sorry. If they could play at this level, we would recruit them. There's a reason these individual's are not highly rated. Again, rankings do not tell everything about a prospect, but, taken as a whole, they are great indicators.

The staff is just going after who they think are the best recruits, and they aren't going after very many guys from Tennessee. That should tell you all you need to know.

Personally, I don't care where the recruits come from. If the staff thinks they're good enough for an offer, they've got my vote.

Not many great prospects in state this year. I think we'll sign five or so next year.

Every kid you mentioned is average and is not SEC talent unless it is at KY or Vandy. Do you expect UT to win championships with that kind of talent. Who really cares where they are from? I don't.

The players you mention may very well turn out to be solid players at the college level. You really should read Meat Market which gives insight into the fact that our recruiting coordinator is definitely one of the best in the business at evaluating talent.

I am confident that these coaches will make certain they don't miss out on underrated prospects in their own back yard.

I've seen some great players in West Tennessee as well, but you have to understand that the level of competition that we witness here in Tennessee is sooo much lower compared to the players a school like Tennessee recruits. It takes a really special player outside of the Memphis, Jackson, Nashville areas (i.e. Justin Harrell) to play at UT. Randall Cobb is a great athlete and we missed out on him, but most players at UK aren't on Tennessee's talent level, IMO.

If the players named above were that good, they would have been looked a in June at the Camps, that's if they went to Camp. But, if they did, and didn't get the nod, they probably won't get the nod now.

Face it: the talent level in Tennessee high school football year in & out is mediocre at best. CLK will go after the real prospects, but he can't take chances on "project players". He & the Vol staff are proven when it comes to evaluating talent. Meanwhile, the EIGHT divisions of football in TSSAA is truly laughable.

Tyler is kinda slow... Not really big time D1 material. Taharin and me played pee wee and midget football together at Eagleton and I rarely see him but at the Jamboree he said one of the assistant coaches has called him quite a bit.

Lets not beat about the bush

If you want to win you dont make Tennessee your top prioty

Its the top priority if there are players at the level UT needs to get back to the SEC Elite. Unfortunately, TN as a state doesnt have very many of those players. If there were players in the state that the staff thought had the talent to help us win titles, they would be offered. Too many people take not offering a lot of TN players personally. This staff doesnt care where a player lives.....if they can play, they will get an offer.

So with this philosophy, we should all understand why Tennessee's 2-3* talent don't get to go to UT and why the 5* might not want to go to Tennessee. Tennessee is going to be a meat market with kids truly interested more about themselves than the team. The coaches could care less where the kids are from therefore the kids they end up could care less about the school they are attending and the education they will get. It is all about winning. I know. I really liked the idea of the fence around Tennessee, but I do not see their philosophy successfully keeping 5* TN talent in state. Hopefully this coaching staff will be successful at making UT "sexy" again and the kids will want to pile in here and the local talent will want to stay.

Does anyone know the deal on the Toney guy from Alcoa,he looks like a monster.

He's scrawny not very big but quick he ran a 4.5 he wouldn't be able to run between the gaps in the sec,I guess we could get him to walk on and maybe be like a DMC.

One thing to remember is talent level in TN is no where near where it is in some of the other states. Not saying we don't produce good players, but you have to look at that when determining who your going after.

Yes, Kentucky is kicking our butt in recruiting. They have commitments from Robinson, Williamson, and McAdoo. That is why they will beat us tommorrow night like they have every year for the last 24 years.
