Statsheet is and interesting site. I could get lost for hours in all the numbers. Here's one for SEC leaders for Roland average in the clutch (clutch time is considered as last 5 minutes of the 2nd half or overtime and score margin less than 5). Needless to say I was pleasently surprised that Tennessee had anyone in the top 10 let alone McBee at #3.

I'm not trying to start a fight just point something out, but if your the coach and needed some plays made late in a game and were down 5, would you want any of those top 10. Personally, I'd be going gilchrist, Teague, hickey, boynton, bost, Jenkins, Taylor etc. the fact Woolridge is on that list ahead of pretty much everyone one of those guys shows how numbers can really be deceiving.

The fact chain gang and Sydney are top 5 proves that haha, id take neither of then top 30 in sec.jmho

Not trying to take away from skykar, just saying, looking at that list it's a bit deceiving.

Woolridge? That completely discredits that list. McBee is rockin as of late though.

That's what I was saying. When you see none of the uk guys on that list, and see chaingang in the top 3 with Sydney that's a bit of a misleading list.

I wonder if we constructed a list of clutch guys in sec how much it'd vary. I'm gonna guess woolridgecwouldnt be on it.

That's why you judge basketball on what you see on the floor, vs looking at a sheet of paper to analyze a player. Stats can be skewed to support any argument.

I believe CCM has been pretty clutch himself.........proves that "year 0" doesn't have to be a dumpster fire.

Read the crirteria for the list. UK hasn't had very many close games. That's why you don't see many of their players on the list. McBee can make FT's. That helps a lot in the last 5 minutes of the game.

I think my point is a legitimate one and meant to build up CCM....if you disagree, that's fine - no worries here.

I do disagree. I think your point was to throw a shot across the bow. I remember another post you in the last couple of days that was similar.
To each his own. Just don't think you fooled everyone with the "was meant to build up cm" comment.

True. But you're gonna tell me Sidney and chaingang would be in your top 3 in sec? Mcbee has been clutch for us I was just laughing at other names on the list, ie Woolridge!

I agree with what you're saying about the UK players. They are so good as a team they haven't had but a couple of close games.

As an example, in college football Oregon could have the best punter in the NCAA but you wouldn't know by looking at the stat sheet because he doesn't have enough kicks to qualify. They hardly ever punt.

i get that, but STILL look at the top 10. i would take bost, hickey, walker, boynton, releford, hamilton, jenkins, taylor, tinsley over any one of those guys in their top 10. thats not even mentioning any UT players, i just find it funny that the way the stat is perceived that these guys on the list are the most clutch. you couldnt pay me to play sidney in the final minutes of a game, nevermind call upon him, same for chaingang, hes not even the best center on his team.

how does DJ Disaster even qualify for the list? He doesn't even play in the last 5 minutes of the 2nd half. I bet he has seen action 5 times or less in a 5 point game with 5 min to go.

I agree. I think their formula may be a bit flawed.

i dont really know that their is even any formula you can come up with. dwayne wade is one of the most clutch shot guys around, but, he's gonna have more misses in most people in that situation becuase he has taken more. its really just something IMO that cant even be made a stat, but just have to use your pereption.
