CNN's John King: "Before we go to break, I want to make a quick point. We were having a discussion about the Chicago mayoral race. My friend Andy Shaw used the term 'in the crosshairs' in talking about the candidates. We're trying, we're trying to get away from that language. Andy is a good friend, he's covered politics for a long time, but we're trying to get away from that kind of language."

So now we've gone from political correctness to dumbing down language and removing any metaphors and colloquialisms that might require a slight bit of thought to interpret.

Southern english will soon be considered eloquent and sophisticated.

If they ever make sarcasm a crime, I'll get the death penalty.

"crosshairs" is offensive now?

....If it wasn't so stupid, it would be hilarious.

I don't know if it's the scope of the problem or the focus of the discussion but something is way wrong when you're not safe in a Safe Way parking lot anymore, it has to be something to do with politically correct speech no doubt.

Geez, what now, do we boycott Target??? (Pronounced 'tarzhay' by PC Vandy students who shop there.)

I wonder if CNN has thought about where the word "campaign" comes from?

No more "battleground" states?

No more "targets"?

We...are...screwed.

So, how long until we have to get rid of the "shotgun" formation in football? Or QB's described as having a "rifle" arm?

One can only wonder how many lives were lost due to CNN having a show called Crossfire? And how many innocent wolves have been killed due to having an anchor named Wolf Blitzer?

This is almost as funny as when an nfl guy went on a tirade about getting raped on the field (forgot who it was) and everyone went gaga. Couple of weeks later Steve young was on some radio show and said "so and so was being ra.......handled on the line."
