Vols #7 in the Southeast Region; SEC 5 teams

UConn snags a No. 1 seed in Bracket Watch - Andy Glockner - SI.com

In the bubble analysis:
IN THE MIX
Tennessee (12-7, 2-2; RPI: 17, SOS: 1)
The Vols poached a solid road win at Georgia on Brian Williams' buzzer-beating putback before getting handled after halftime by surging UConn in Bruce Pearl's one-game return. It's a maddening, confounding team, but one that has a good number of quality wins and the talent to beat just about anyone.
GW: Villanova (N), at Pitt, VCU (N)?, at Georgia?
BL: at Charlotte, Oakland (at home), College of Charleston (at home)

I've got a feeling the Vanderbilt and Memphis wins will be included in the good win column by the end of the season. Also, I would like to see what we would have done to UCONN on a neutral court. Whoever decided to schedule them the same weekend as a road game at UGA was an idiot.

If the Vols don't implode and can have a decent finish to the season then no one will want to play them in March. The most talented and underacheiving team in the country who can beat anyone and lose to to a DII. GBO!!

I think TN will at best be a 5 seed.....I can also see this team heading to the NIT

The SEC and TV networks deal UT the league schedule, and that was the only "bye" in the schedule. But, I would prefer to play a big game like that before we start SEC play. We had a long time to prepare for Pitt, and it helped.

By now, this team is what it is. We can lose to any one or win against any one. However, we are more likely to lose than win lately. 5-7 in the last 12 games isn't going to get into the tournament unless we have a quick turnaround. I don't see it happening with this team. Too many distractions and too much inconsistency. I don't care about seeding projections at this point. I just hope somehow we can win enough to keep making the tournament.

Lundardi has us as a 9 seed...I think if the season ended today that is more likely than a 7.

I think we can win 8 games, then would probably only have to win 1 tournament game, especially if we play a team with a losing record, then we have to beat them. It would be ideal if we met Arkansas again, or Mississippi State. We owe Arkansas for the SEC Championship a couple years ago and Arkansas for earlier this season.
