“I hadn’t been in communication with them until two days before the offer,” said Miller, who’s ranked the No. 761 overall prospect and No. 72 offensive tackle in the 2022 class, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. “I was very excited.”

The 6-foot-7, 285-pound Miller said Elarbee “liked my athleticism a lot, and my ability to finish players to the ground.” And while Miller is still getting familiar with Heupel’s staff, led by Elarbee, he said he has heard good things about Tennessee.

“I would love to build a relationship with the coaches and get to know the campus, and the great things about the school,” Miller said.

“I know that the school has a great football history. I look forward to researching the school and learning more.”

The Vols have plenty of competition for him. He said Michigan State, Kansas State, Nebraska, Utah, Stanford, Texas Tech and Michigan are the teams currently recruiting him hardest. He’s not ready to name any favorites just yet.

“I’m still looking to narrow it down to a top five before the end of April,” he said.

While Tennessee might not be close to home for Miller, he said geography won’t be a major factor in his college decision. He said he’s willing to go to any school that he believes would be a good fit for him, regardless of where it’s located.

“I have no worries going out of state,” he said, “no matter the distance.”
