Coach Cal to the NBA?

As I just finished commenting on your post in the other thread....

Not gonna happen.

1) He wants a championship.
2) Why take a pay cut to coach at the worst franchise in the NBA.

Now Pitino on the other hand is the one I am laughing at, coming out on the air waves to deny interest saying he was never in pursuit, after the Nets acknowledge he was in pursuit and they weren't interested.

The lure of an professional coaching job can be quite the pull, we have seen this time and again. KY is in the top echelon of college basketball, but I think most would agree that it is par when it comes to the NBA. You see it all the time in the NFL, coaches go from programs where they consistently pull in big recruiting rankings, win conference championships and challenge for national championships then go to teams like the Browns, Seahawks or Rams.

Just sayin, don't put it past Cal. He has close to 0 loyalty to any school including UK. A contract yes, loyalty I don't think so.

Pitino was previously linked to this job, but of course he has denied interest. I can't see Calipari going back to NJ, if it was any other team maybe, but NJ?

Heard a speculation that if Cal went to the Nets Lebron would as well because he and Cal are such big buds and he wants to be coached by Cal.

Cal's best attribute is recruiting, not much of that going on at the pro level. he stays at Kenlucky, IMO.

He was a failure the first time around the NBA...nothing has changed,he will fail again.....Cal as a NBA coach is one hell of a joke!

Not going to happen this time around.

Any team besides the Nets, they didn't end on the greatest of terms before. He won't be going back there unfortunately...

Cal would leave in a heartbeat if it guaranteed he would coach Lebron. NTM he could draft Wall or Cousins.

He wasn't really in New Jersey that long, and he made the playoffs in a stacked eastern conference.

The guy's not Red Auerbach, but he can coach in the NBA.
