CHW needs to be tougher ,does it sound like she is getting that support from her staff ?

Sounds a lot like the Orange Dog senario! Kyra played better than she sounded in this interview. Go back and coach, get these girls prepared to play on the road against a quality basketball team!

i didn't get the heart thing,it sounds like what they do with kids, give em all a medal, even though they know who kicked ass or not, instead of getting a kick in the pants forward

Disappointing interview. Defensive about the "after Georgia" criticism, but the discussion about the heart pins was cringe worthy. It's an indication that the coaches are adrift and grasping at straws in an attempt to improve the team. Unfortunately, the heart discussion went on and on with Kyra seeming to enjoy talking about it. Anything to divert the discussion from the real issues.

Last year UT was finishing out the season at UK. We had already claimed the SEC regular season title but I believed we were playing for the last one seed.

We went on to lose that game in astounding fashion which seemed odd to me considering we had a former uk assistant who knew all of their players. Needless to say I was enraged when I read in the paper where Elzy refused to do the scout for the game and that Holly understood. To which I say bull****.

If I work at Chevy and Ford hires me away you better believe that short of trade secrets, I will be expected to use my knowledge of Chevy to help Ford beat them. It was unconscionable to me that Elzy was unable to at the very least contribute to the scout.

If that happened she should have been fired on the spot. Escort her out and send her the stuff in her desk later because you can't have dual loyalties. You are being paid to do a job and if you refuse to do it you shouldn't expect to continue being employed.

This ain't patty cake.

well there you have it! they just hand out heart pins, regardless of whether a player is deserving of one. i'm sure that's going to make them set their goals higher (sarcasm). the 3S of recognition (selective, specific, sincere). i don't understand just rewarding the team because they won. what's the plan for making them play as a cohesive unit for 40 min. the coaches and the team need counseling. expect this team to play in spurts against ND and Holly Warlick will talk about how they had opportunities to win. ...convinced a National Championship is years away. who are the high school superstars watching and reading this bs, and are still saying "yes, i want to be a lady vol!"

with all the differing comments on this thread - question Do you believe or not believe that the team seems to be more concerned about making a mistake than is healthy? than might be negatively effecting their play? If you answer yes, what would you do to coach 18-22 year old females to overcome that "issue?" I am a male, I raised daughters. They are most successful, but the journey was about hanging in there as a parent.

"tough" has lots of meanings,
