We were better than 3 of those teams last season. OU and Florida have unproven head coaches going forward, and Saban is in the twilight of his career. I see us and UGA, along w/ LSU as the most stable programs in the SEC currently. Plus, We would’ve made the CFP and hosted a game as a 7 seed last year if it were 12 teams. We’re going to be able to lose a game or 2 and still have a chance to be in it.You have to get in the playoff to dominate it. Playing Ala, Ga, Florida, Oklahoma -- not likely to make the top 12 teams.
Have you seen everyone else’s schedule? It’s not like everyone’s hasn’t gotten tougher. Auburn probably is the happiest of everyone in the SEC, and that helps us. Enemy of my enemy is my friend. You have to get in the playoff to dominate it. Playing Ala, Ga, Florida, Oklahoma -- not likely to make the top 12 teams.
Plus Nico and the rest of that class will have some experience under their belts in 2024. It will finally be a team of largely Heupel’s recruits, designed from the ground up for our unique brand of Blitzkrieg Ball. They will be dangerous for any opponent. And we get Bama at home. No rushing the field needed this time. It will be becoming routine to beat Nick, as the prophecy foretoldWe were better than 3 of those teams last season. I am ready for it. Just need to win 10 regular season games, make sure our only losses are to top 10 teams, and win the ones you're supposed to. Keep any losses respectable. Don't get caught off guard by a crappy/streaky team.
We get into the 12 team playoffs with that formula.
Bingo the developing of a great defense is the key and seems like that is the goal, the offense isnt going anywhere it will be thereThe one thing the rest of the league will be blindsided by is the quality of defense Heupel seems to be building. They already have their hands full slowing us down on offense. Wait until they start having trouble scoring against us as well. 53 to 49 games are one thing. 53 to 21 will be a whole new ballgame (pun intended)
Other teams are still gearing up to oppose Heupel 2022, not Heupel 2024. like in military history, generals get destroyed when they go into a new war with the plans from the previous war

Well said. I think CJH has probably the most creative mind in Power 5 football.I think this applies to the offense as well. While the style and philosophy may stay largely the same, I think Heupel is a guy who will adapt and adjust the play while throwing in some new kinks to the offense year after year.
A testament to this is that the man has a track record of getting the best out of all his QBs regardless of the QBs strengths. He has been successful with scramblers, pocket passers, short ball, long ball, etc. Also, don't forget KY this year when the marched up the field pro style with some "real football" against the cats. Point is, teams may not be able to predict his approach in the future. Especially as he gets more top tier talent, he is going to be able to be even more dangerous and flexible with this offense. Also, as secretive and protective he is of his offense, there is no telling what other plays in the playbook we have never even seen as of yet. I imagine some stuff may not be have been as feasible without the proper dudes, which again, he is now acquiring.
Other teams in the SEC must be feeling real nervous as they see him start to stack talent. No more SEC punching bag TN.
Anyone outside of the SEC will be blind sided by it. The only challenge will be the fact that most years there will be at least 4 SEC teams in the playoff. So far, UGA is the only team to stop it, and they needed a couple of early overthrows to wide open receivers at the goal line to stop it.
