We got to see a brief part of one before the Georgia game when they were saying the maxims... Other than that, I haven't seen or heard much about CBJ's pre-game speeches. Has anyone heard anything or seen any clips or anything? This is just something that is always interesting to me.

Idk, but I went to an Arkansas state game recently, and they use "brick by brick." Did Butch steal it?

Whatever he's saying, he should probably go back to the drawing board.... It's just not working.

Doubt we did, I know Stoops at Kentucky started using brick by brick too, def after he saw it working for us. I remember last year some announcer talked about Duke having Neyland's maxims in the locker room also.

At least he didn't adopt the Dooley halftime speech.

Dooley halftime speech: Alright guys, we had a decent first half. Now let's go out there and suck!

As long as Arkie State bricks aren't Acme bricks (Official Brick provider of the Vols) then it doesn't matter.

From the usage of "brick by brick" from the Tennessee perspective. A caller called in to a show and was talking to bUTch. He said "We can build a championship team coach, but we need to do it brick by brick"

bUTch liked what the caller had to say and started to use that saying.

Have no idea about it's usage from other places....

I was kidding. I've heard the phrase before. A lot of teams use the slogans

People will get offended as if we own this and created it,just like the "loco thing" with some receivers. Someone undoubtedly used this before us, someone will use this after us. It's a cliche for a reason.

I agree. We lost the last three games, bad, but I do see improvement this season in the 2nd half, where there was no significant changes with Coach Dool. Atleast CBJ has a second half approach and plan, imo.

Duke has the Maxims because Cutcliff is their head coach.
:good!:

Butch's pre-game: "You're the best of the best."
Dooley's: "You're the worst of the worst."

Both are wrong.

I think every game this season the team has come out of the gate fired up. I don't know what you all are thinking about.
